Alright, seriously. Check out this girl’s style. She writes the very cool blog, Second Skin, which I found her via What I Wore. I have to agree with Jessica, she is totally adorable and very inspiring. Take the outfit above, for example. I have been in a bit of an outfit funk since I got back to New York because all my clothes seem wrinkled and it is just so dang cold out. But, one look at this ensemble and I perked up. I am going to try and use this look as inspiration for an outfit to come, either tonight—going to hear Passion Pit (!)— or this weekend, which is my best friend’s Birthday party. So, stay tuned!
Remix Challenge: Day 1
Before I dive in, let me just say that my computer is still at the Apple store, so I won’t be able to put up my photos of everything I packed until tomorrow (hopefully!) so thank you for being patient. Okay. So, for those of you just joining us, I have committed to, and accepted a remix challenge, brought on yours truly. For the next two weeks, which ends on the 31st of this month, I will remix this little black dress, 14 different ways. This idea was inspired by The Uniform Project, and the fact that I am home in Seattle for the next handful of weeks and needed to pack light. So, with that said, let’s talk about the outfit.
It’s Friday and tonight I am going to meet up with one of my oldest friends for happy hour down in Edmonds, to catch up and fill each other in on the happenings of our lives. I wanted to wear something that was sort of dressed up but still understated—Edmonds is a small little town right by the water and I didn’t want to go overboard—hence the mostly black ensemble with just a few accents of color here and there. It’s warmer today than it was yesterday but still necessary to wear a little blazer and tights, plus what I am going to call my “driving gloves.” Because, well, I get to drive while I’m here. (Woo hoo!)
Stay tuned for another remix tomorrow!

Hello, my loves! I am so excited this morning. I am flying out to Seattle today for three weeks to spend Christmas vacation with my family. Hurrah! My only concern as I was packing last night, how in the heck am I going to bring a large chunk of my wardrobe home with me again? Over the summer, I brought so much with me, plus came home with lots of fun items, that my suitcases were beyond hefty. Then I remembered Sheena from The Uniform Project and how she decided to wear one dress for 365 days. I thought to myself, if she can do that for an entire year, then I can at least try and attempt to remix my own little black dress for a mere two-three weeks! So, although my plan isn’t as awesome as Sheena’s, which donates money towards the Akanksha Foundation so that underprivileged children can have a chance to go to school, I was still so inspired by her creativity and determination to base all her outfits around one little dress. Plus, I think this will be a great way to show how to pack lighter when going somewhere for an extended period of time. So, starting Wednesday, I am going to give this challenge my best shot. Wish me luck!

Kelly’s DIY take on the lovely shoe/ankle jewels.
The other day I was perusing my favorite fashion blogs and came across this photo on Kelly’s blog, The Glamourai, and was instantly taken with the idea. (Read her original post here!) I love the ones she created on her own, shown above, and have to admit, I loved her look so much, that I went out and bought similar tights and gathered some chains to make my own version of this cool trend. I guess imitation is flattery at its finest, right?
Stay tuned to see what I come up with!
Thanks Kelly!

Here is the Cheap Monday shirt again!
And again!
Krystal, from This Time Tomorrow
Granted, these girlies, including Katy, from Kansas Couture, and I did get the same shirt as a gift from the lovely Cheap Monday at the Weardrobe Conference, but I am loving how each one has styled it in their own way. So, I have taken on the challenge for myself to see how many ways I can style it up too. I will post all the looks that I come up at the end of this week. Thanks blogging girlies, for always being such an inspiration! xoxo

I met the lovely Katy of the awesome blog, Kansas Couture, a few weeks back at the Weardrobe Conference and I just have to say, I love her style. I was checking her blog and really loved this outfit. We both got this same necklace from Fred Flare, as well as this t-shirt in one of the gift bags, courtesy of Cheap Monday, and I was a little hesitant on whether or not I could pull it off or how I would wear it. But after seeing Katy rock it so effortlessly, I became inspired. Stay tuned to see what I come up with!
No-lace Oxfords

I really like this look. I saw some black oxford flats in Buffalo Exchange yesterday, but as cute as they were on the shelf, I didn’t like them as much once I put them on. I wonder if I de-laced them if they would look more loosened up and casual. Mmmm…another trip to the wonderous B.E.? I’m thinking so.
P.S. Loving her entire look. Effortlessly cool. Le sigh.

HAPPY FRIDAY! Aren’t you SO jazzed it’s almost the weekend? I am! Plus, I just made myself the best driving CD and one of the songs on it is Sugar Town sung by Zooey Deschanel, which I of course have been listening to over and over again. She first sang it during a karaoke scene in her new movie, 500 Days of Summer. I love her and just find her so facsinating. Her style, her look, her voice and how she manages to be beautiful, innocent, haunting and intriguing all at the same time. Anyway, I decided to dedicate this last and final post of the week to her and share with you these adorable and inspiring photos of Miss Deschanel herself, which I found on this cute blog.
P.S. I would like to just send out a HUGE thank you to you all for reading, commenting and just being so supportive. I really, really appreciate it. You all rock. Majorly.
Have a fantastic weekend everyone!
