My Style Pill

It’s That Time Again…

It’s official, I’ve jumped on the Chelsea boot, lug sole trend and am really loving it. So much so that I branched out from my usual black to a really pretty fawn color that I snagged during one of the recent sales. I wasn’t sure if they were going to make my feet look massive, due to the light color. Sometimes I find when styling a lighter colored shoe that has some height (both in the shaft and sole), a chunky sole and round toe, you can run the risk of it feeling a little clownish. But I am happy to report they aren’t as standout/overwhelming as I thought and I’m really excited to style them with jeans and skirts. For this particular look, I decided to go for a monochromatic vibe and even threw on a hat for good measure.

Get the look:

If you are in the market for a similar pair, you are in luck because Shopbop is currently having a sale where you can save up to 50 percent with the code HOLIDAY! P.S. If you aren’t into a bulkier style, check out this slightly more streamlined looking pair.

Shopbop Black Friday Sale!

When it comes to shopping the big sales, I am usually pretty particular about what I buy and try to grab things I’ve had my eye on for a while. Usually that means the item(s) might be a bit on the spendier side, but that’s when I feel is the best time to take advantage of investing in something while saving money. Below I shared 12 of my tried and true, favorite finds from the Shopbop Black Friday sale (many of which I already own or just added to my cart)! Make sure to use the code SHOP20 at check out to save 20 percent on all Black Friday items. The sale ends Monday, November 30th at 11:59 ET.

Happy shopping and happy holidays! xoxo

Happy Thanksgiving!

Hi friends! Can you believe that Thanksgiving is just a couple days away?! My parents and I are going to take Murphy to the dog beach in the morning, then going to see the new Mr. Rogers movie in the early afternoon, before heading back home to prep for dinner. After that, the plan is to just relax, sip wine and watch some holiday movies post turkey dinner. So excited to unplug and spend some quality time with the fam since Friday morning is going a bit hectic…

With that said, I’m sure you guys are incredibly aware of all the sales that are gearing up or that have already started, and I’ll be right there with you, getting up early to shop the online Black Friday sales for my clients. And since Shopbop is having one of their amazing sales, which started yesterday, I wanted to quickly share a handful of items I found (all under $150!) that I will be living in this season. They are offering 15% off orders of $200 or more, 20% percent off orders $500 or more and 25 % off orders of $800 or more with the code MORE19 and it ends on December 1st at 11:59pm ET so check out the links below and get shopping! xoxo

Welcome Fall!

After traveling to Copenhagen, India and Iceland for the better part of two weeks this past August, I had to quickly develop a daily uniform that was easy but also comfortable. For me, this consisted of leggings, a t-shirt, a comfy cardigan, a lightweight backpack, weather-friendly booties and a trusty hat. If you guys are in the market for similar items (that happen to be on sale!) then you are in luck! Shopbop is having one of their amazing sales, where they are offering 20 percent off orders under $500 and 25 percent off orders of $500 or more with the code STOCKUP19. It ends Thursday at 11:59PT, so make sure to check out the links below and get shopping! xoxo

Visiting the Cherry Blossoms!

A couple Sundays ago, Nate and I met my family at the quad on University of Washington’s campus to see the cherry blossoms in full bloom. It’s a Seattle ritual and signifies that spring has officially sprung. I decided to fully embrace the blossom theme and dress in my new favorite floral tank, pink trench and white jeans, which I had been waiting all year to wear and was so happy the time had finally come. This outing totally inspired me to start shopping for the warmer weather and I found myself being drawn to light pastels, neutrals and the perfect pair of cropped denim in an off white or cream color. I think white denim is a staple, but what about eggshell or ecru? It hadn’t occurred to me that this could be a cute addition to my wardrobe until I spotted these cuties online at Shopbop during their sale.

SIDE NOTE! For those of you that didn’t know, Shopbop is having one of their amazing sales where you get 20 percent off purchases under $500 and 25% off purchases over $500, with the code EVENT19. It’s only for a couple more days (ends April 12th at 11:59PT) so get shopping!

Ok, so back to what I found…I also grapped another pair of cropped denim but in a light blue wash, this awesome backpack in a pretty light brick color and these gorgeous suede blue navy pumps, which I have been looking for and finally found! All in all, I love what I got and know that all of these pieces will integrate nicely into my current wardrobe, which is always my main goal.

Scroll down to see more beautiful cherry blossom photos and some up close shots of my outfit!

Happy spring, everyone!

For The Love of Shoes: The Buy More, Save More Shopbop Sale is here!

Up until last week, I had patiently been stalking a certain pair of shoes that were basically sold out on Shopbop for months. And then, miraculously last week my size became available! I’m referring to the sneakers you see in the photo below. These red, white and blue Tretorns had my heart the moment I set eyes on them. The best part was that I knew they would live up to the hype I had created in my head, because I already own a pair in a different color-way, so I knew they would be comfortable and fit perfectly.

Shop my finds:

Now onto these cutie Converse high tops! I own the same pair in black but after seeing them on my friend Erin, I decided I wanted to look as effortlessly cool as her, so I scooped up a pair for myself. I really love how they look with these cropped jeans, but I think they will also look great with a pair of dark skinny jeans or even a denim skirt when the weather gets warmer. Along with these two new pair of shoes, I also finally got a pretty pair of rose gold sparkly huggies for everyday wear and a pair of wooden beaded hoops, which will look so cute for the summer.

Right now, Shopbop is having their huge Buy More, Save More sale, so you the more you spend, the more you save! So if you guys are in the market for some new fun things for spring, hop on over to the site and check out the goods! The sale is only going on now through the 3rd, so hop to it!

Black Friday Shopbop Sale!

Hi friends, I hope you all had a fantastic Thanksgiving! My family and I just got back from Leavenworth, which was so beautiful and relaxing, but I’m also looking forward to having a couple days left to hang at home on the couch watching Christmas movies and drinking hot cocoa, before Monday rolls around again.

I am sure that you guys are probably getting bombarded with Black Friday sales, but I just wanted to share a handful of items I found (under $150!) from the Shopbop sale that are still in stock and super cute for either yourself or a gift for a loved one!

Take a peek and don’t forget to use the code MORE18 when checking out to save 15% off orders of $200 or more, 20% off orders of $500 or more, and 25% off orders of $800 or more!

September Shopbop Sale!

The September Shopbop sale is here, which runs from 9/26-9/29 and is offering 20% off all orders under $500 and 25% off all orders reaching $500 or more, with the code STOCKUP18.

Below are the items I ended up buying from the sale, which I can NOT wait to style and share with you guys. My favorite thing to buy in general are always accessories because they can change an outfit instantly with minimal effort. I plan to wear these pretty bralets under oversized slouchy sweaters and pair the hats, backpack and shoes with my trench or a leather jacket. You might have also noticed a color theme happening here…give me all the neutral and earthy tones, amiright? Eeeee!!! Just writing about this makes me so excited for the fall and my favorite month, October. Bring on the crisp, autumn weather!

(Side note: Le Labo Signature Detergent in Santal 33 by The Laundress is my absolute favorite, which also happens to be the main scent that I wear. I always make sure we have a bottle of this liquid gold on hand to wash our sheets and linens – it makes everything smell amazing.)

Shop what I bought from the sale!

Detergent | Bralette (in White) | Bralette (in Nude) | Bralette (in Cocoa)

Loafers | White Pumps | Newsboy Hat | Beret | Backpack

Before I dive into talking about the outfits in th Before I dive into talking about the outfits in this Reel, I want to take a moment and talk about perfectionism and how it can potentially foil the best laid plans…if you let it.

Here’s what I’m talking about: As I was looking back at what I had just filmed, instead of seeing two cute outfit remix ideas, (both based around a $4 top I scored at Goodwill), I only saw the shelves behind me with messy piles of pants, unorganized hanging clothing that wasn’t color coordinated, and the damn black hanger on the floor that is peeking into my shot. 🙄

It hasn’t always been like this for me when it came to sharing my content, but over the years, as photos and video on IG and online became glossier and glossier, and more picture perfect, I found myself pulling back and not wanting to share unless everything was neat and perfectly “in place” before stepping in front of the camera.

Today, I almost let the fact that my new closet set up that you see here, (which I had only just put together) wasn’t quite set up the way I imagined in my head, keep me from sharing outfits with you all, which is why you follow me in the first place! Jeez.

Anyway, I know that this type of issue isn’t incredibly serious, but I know that I love it when other people
open up and share about little things that they are dealing with, because it helps me feel like I’m
not alone with what I might be going through. So if I helped you release any perfectionism that you might be holding onto, then that is good enough for me. Thank you for coming to my TedTalk.

OK, now that I got that off my chest, let’s get into the really important stuff: the outfits!

Earlier today I wandered into Goodwill hoping to find some gems, and ended up leaving with this knit tank. I’m really pleased with it and love the color. It’s a dusty mauve and I immediately imagined paring it with my new bright purply-pink sleep set that I shared on here, yesterday. Then of course I had to turn the outfit into a remix and decided to try it on with my new white gauzy pants and some stacked sandals. All in all, I really am quite pleased with both looks!

Which would you wear? 1 or 2?

xo,
Christine

Quick back story on the pieces: I recently got these pants and am officially obsessed. They are the perfect length for sneakers (I’m 5’4), lightweight for spring weather and very comfortable. I’ll link them in my stories if you want the details!

This trench has become an all time favorite and was something I picked up for my collaboration with @bellevuecollection. It’s from @oakandfort and the drape, the cut, everything about it is perfect to me.

The bag is also from @oakandfort, my shoes are @converse and my sweater is old from @target. Oh and earrings are @oldnavy and sunnies are @lespecs!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

I haven’t worn this denim vest in a minute, but it sure came in handy when styling this dress, which makes me really happy I didn’t get rid of it during one of my seasonal purging sessions. 😬

This dress comes in a few other colors and is incredible comfortable and lightweight. I think it would also work really well as a coverup if you wanted to go from the beach to brunch!✌🏻

Day 29: Style an entire look around your favorite Day 29: Style an entire look around your favorite pair of shoes 🤠

Ok before I talk about this look, can you believe we only have ONE more day of the 30 Day Fashion Challenge?! For those of you that have been participating, thank you for sending me your outfits and letting me know when you have been implementing some of the prompts even if you haven’t done all 28 days - the point was always to help you look at your wardrobe with fresh eyes and to get creative with your clothing.

So these boots have a special place in my heart. I bought them on a family trip to Santa Fe at a vintage cowboy boot store and immediately fell in love with them. I haven’t really worn them recently but when the prompt said to style an outfit around a favorite pair of shoes, these popped into my mind. It’s also fitting that I chose cowboy boots because I’m spending the weekend in San Antonio! If you have any recommendations, leave them in the comments!

Hello friends! I am so excited to share my collabo Hello friends! I am so excited to share my collaboration with @bellevuecollection , where I styled and remixed some of my favorite transitional pieces that I found for spring, all available in stores now!

For those of you that have been following me for some time now, know that I love classic pieces and a trench coat definitely falls into that category. Earlier in my first reel, I shared a timeless khaki trench and created four different looks based around it, swapping out only a few different pieces, all of which I found while shopping the variety of stores The Bellevue Collection has to offer.

And now, I’m taking a slightly different approach to a classic style of jacket - the trench coat - and styling a leather version from @aritzia! I am so in love with this buttery soft jacket and am very into the retro, elevated vibes it’s giving me. I created four looks using this one trench and rotated between a few of the same pieces I purchased at The Bellevue Collection for some good ol’ remixing fun.
