My Favorite Trench Coats For Fall

Processed with VSCO with s2 preset

Guys, it’s finally Friday! I can’t wait for the weekend because Casey and I have some fun plans ahead of us, including Oktoberfest! I am hoping the weather will hold out and not be too rainy, because the temperatures sure have shifted pretty drastically in New York over the past few days. All of a sudden it’s trench coat weather just like that, which I admittedly love. I also love that Saturday is October 1st and that Halloween and Thanksgiving will be here before we know it, but back to trench coats. I put together a handful of my favorite styles at the moment, ranging in price point too, so take a peek after the jump and let me know which one is your favorite! xo

Currently Coveting: The Short Sleeve Trench

Have you guys ever read Helena’s blog, Brooklyn Blond? Well, if you haven’t, you should go now, it’s really great! I am especially loving her short sleeve trench! I don’t how I have lived this long without this particular version of my favorite jacket. I mean, I have every other style, but never even know this kind existed. Must. Find. Now.

Sneak Peek: My Trench Cape!

It’s safe to say that I have a serious obsession with trench coats. With that said, I’m going to take a chance here and admit how many I actually own. No judgement, okay?

So I counted the other day and came up with a grand total of nine. This includes all different styles, mind you. I promise I don’t have nine identical trench coats hanging in my closet. They vary in color and style (vest to cape to classic) and I find them all to be excellent wardrobe staples. I know it sounds silly to have similar colored trenches, like stone, tan, light brown, olive etc, but each play a different part in closet and outfits.

A true love affair, really. xoxo

style inspiration: diy sleeveless trench!

Um, is this a stroke of genius or what? The lovely Krystal, of This Time Tomorrow has gone and done it again. Not only is she an awesome person, but I love her style in general. She is always coming up with ingenious ways to wear regular pieces of clothing by adding her own twist and style. I remember back when I first started reading her blog, I went bananas over this embellished tank she wore here. So much so, that I saved the photo and tucked it away in my DIY to-do folder. I still need to get around to making a similar top, but the point is the inspiration she provided. Anyway, this time, she went and cut off the sleeves of a her trench coat and sent me into a style frenzy. Although her post was supposed to be about her cute DIY turban, I was blinded by her DIY trench. Here’s the thing. I have a trench that I bought from Banana Republic, like forever ago, and I never wear it, which is a shame, but it just doesn’t fit right. It’s too long and overall way to big. I was going to take it in and get it tailored—read: expensive—but now I am having second thoughts and might just pull out my scissors instead and take matters into my own hands…

Hope you’re all having a lovely Thursday! Outfit photo to come in a bit! xoxo

My Outfit: Feeling Parisian…

parisian beret and stripes

parisian beret and coffee

I will admit that I loved my outfit from yesterday. The blouse and blazer are the same from this look, except this time I layered with a striped tank underneath. I then changed it up with some wide-legged trouser jeans, my new trench (look at the pleats in the back!) and a kicky beret.

The first group of photos were shot as I was on my out to run errands and grab some lunch from Blue Ribbon Bakery. And the second batch of photos, as you can see, is how I ended up having to actually wear the coat and hat, along with a marigold-colored scarf. It was a tad chilly out, to say the least. Once I ducked inside after running around in the cold, I was sad to remove my Parisian chic-ness of trench and beret, but perfectly happy to fill the void with deviled eggs and creamy tomato soup with toast. YUM!

Before I sign off, I wanted to ask you all a trench coat question…A. Do you own one? B. If you do, where did you get it? I sort of want to get one more…I love them THAT much. Thanks, dolls! xoxo
