The the model, her structed blouse and baggy pleated pants, her hair, the way her foot is blurred…I could go on. Anyway, I just felt like sharing it with you all. Happy Monday friends! Isn’t this outfit so fresh and fun? It is safe to say, she’s done it again. She being my very talented and stylish friend, Jessica of the blog, What I Wore, who put together this very awesome outfit. I love the colors of the blouse, not to mention the high-waisted jeans. I love how she pulls it all together with a bright white belt and very cool white woven sandals. I wish I owned this outfit. Needless to say I am super inspired to create my own version of an early 80s ensemble.

The incredible Garance Dore.
As I was perusing all my favorite blogs, I came across these incredible shots from The Sartorialist and Garance Dore, which I just had to share with you. I have loved menswear for quite some time and it seems now, more than ever, this is its time to be in the spotlight. I think what I love the most is the slightly androgynous look that comes out of a woman wearing men’s clothing. It is such a unique challenge, to pull it off in a way that you still look sexy and like a woman versus just a woman in a man’s clothes. It sounds contradictory, and it is very tricky. However, when done well, the results are pretty fantastic.
The last image is of Garance herself, in an articule that Refinery 29 did on her, regarding street style. The photos of her are amazing. To see more, check it out here!

Hello hello! Sorry for the delay in posts…I am currently working on transferring all my material over to my new domain/site, which I will unveil shortly! So, today on my way back from yoga, I was walking behind this adorable girl. I instantly noticed her white lace slip against her black tights, and as she walked under the blossoming cherry trees, I was taken with how her lace, and the white petals resembled each other so beautifully. I ran up behind her, probably freaking her out in the process, and asked to take a photo. This is what I came up with. Lovely, don’t you think? Do you have cherry blossom trees where you live? Hello from sunny California! As many of you know I am on vacation until Wednesday, but wanted to share my fun trip with you all, so I will be posting daily photos of summery outfits, my family, and pretty scenery for the next few days or so.
I must say that this vacation has come at the most opportune time, since right now is quite a transitional period for me regarding work and my career path. But the changes are positive and I am looking forward to the future. With that said, I have been doing a lot of thinking about things I want to do but haven’t done. And so, on this trip, I decided to start small and tackle one of the smaller goals. One of them being becoming gutsy enough to approach strangers on the street or subway who are dressed well and ask to take photographs of their outfits. My problem with this is that sometimes I become shy in these situations. So, I decided that the only way to make this happen would be by leaping head first and just doing it.
Today I took the plunge. I was standing in line at Starbucks in Coronado Island and saw this adorable girl dressed in a lightweight, white summery dress with a cute fitted, navy blazer and a gold, vintage looking belt. I thought to myself, “how many times have I chickened out of taking some girl or guy’s photograph when they are wearing something drop dead gorgeous?” It was now or never. So, I walked up, handed her my card and asked if I could take her picture. Lucky for me she was very sweet and was extremely obliging. Voila! I did it!
I am now determined to force myself to do this each time I see a fantastic outfit, so stay tuned for more “About Town” photographs. In the meantime, here is the lovely girl from earlier. It was shot quickly, but I hope you can see and appreciate what I saw.
My friend M just emailed me and told me that his friend Tinna was photographed for the very cool blog, facehunter. Aren’t her sequined leggings genius? And that scarf! For anyone who loves ruffles (me!) this is love at first sight. I am amazing at how she managed to combine tassles, sequins and ruffles all in one look without overdoing it. Well done.
