I’m sensing a strong trend here. Once again, I am wearing a tan/sand/beige based outfit. But, in truth, I actually love it. I am such a sucker for these neutral tones, and it definitely makes packing easier because everything goes together! xoxo

Finding A Parallel

I picked up this sweet little sweater at Zara for a sweet little price (read massively on sale), and love how the gold stitching reminds me of (and parallels) the crisscrossing of the gold chain on my wedges. Sometimes outfits work out just right and feel easy breezy, and when they do, they are that much more fun to enjoy, don’t you think? xoxo

Currently loving my new Joie top, which is so silky and lightweight. These yellow shorts, even though they wrinkle incessantly. My go-to Seychelles heels with their subtle touch of yellow on the straps. This creamy colored Coach bag that feels so feminine and pretty. And last but not least, my new Emma Stine necklace that arrived in the mail just in time to be paired with this outfit.

When I was younger, yellow used to be my favorite color, but I stopped wearing it for a long time. So, I am really loving that as of late, I seem to wearing and accenting with it more and more. It’s so cheerful, don’t you think?

What’s your favorite color?

I am in love with this hairdo. I think it looks so chic and fresh, so when I got dressed to wander around the city on Saturday with A, I was determined to recreate the look the best I could. It took a few tries and I still need some practice, but I was pretty pleased with the final outcome.

As for the outfit…I paired my new sheer maxi with denim and army green, but am looking forward to lightening it up with a cropped tee and woven wedges. Hurry up, spring! xoxo

*On a separate outfit note, I meant to post these leather trench photos last week, but I guess better late than never, right?

(Click here to see how I wore this same trench with Converse high tops!)

Remix: Denim On Denim, Take Two

This version of denim on denim is pretty different than yesterday’s ensemble, and definitely skews more towards my inner (or obvious) prepster. So now I’d like to know which look you like the best? And, would you wear either of these outfits?xoxo

The Casual-Chic Combo

I have come to the sad realization that I haven’t taken any outdoor shots in a while. Between traveling, getting sick, freezing cold weather and fashion week, there just hasn’t been time to do so, but don’t worry, there will be a resurgence soon! In the meantime, I am going to shoot mostly studio shots because otherwise all you would see is me outside in a big winter coat instead of actually seeing what I’m wearing underneath. Seriously, it is that cold! Hopefully that changes soon. Okay, enough about the weather and onto the outfit.

I wore this simple ensemble to run errands today in the late afternoon. What I like about this mixture is that the bones of the outfit are very basic and simple, and it’s the accessories that really tie it all together. To create a similar look, start by taking away all the accents. What you are left with is a plain sweatshirt and jeans. But by simply adding your favorite hat, a vibrant scarf, a trusty tote and comfy ankle boots, you can zip zap your ensemble from casual to casual-chic in no time! (I also wore cheeky striped socks, which sadly you can’t see, but are still a fun addition that I highly recommend.) xoxo

My Outfit: These Are A Few Of My Favorite Things

I love when, by accident, some of my favorite pieces all come together in one single ensemble.

Case in point:

  • These classic aviators were a Birthday present from my parents during a trip to Sausalito back in 2006. I thought I lost them last year and then recently found them hiding in an old suitcase. That was a good day.
  • I snagged this preppy, classic blue and white stripped button down at Value Village for $7, and these cool leather shoes for $10, also at Value Village. Double score.
  • This Juicy sweater was gifted to me during the holidays and has been my very favorite go-to chunky knit that seems to go with everything. Isn’t the color pretty?
  • My Mom gave me this Eileen Fisher skirt that she doesn’t wear anymore. I love the style: comfortable but still hugs in all the right places.
  • And lastly, my beloved Coach bag that is a versatile cognac color, practical in size and perfect for toting all sorts of stuff around the city, including my computer and camera. Sadly it’s not available on their website, but check out all their new styles that are available! And, if you’re new to MSP, check out my guest blogger post!

What are a few of your favorite pieces?

My Dad took these photos back in December when it was actually warm enough to shoot without a coat on! He actually helped me pose and said I looked like I was right out of the 70s. I took that as a very big compliment and let him direct me to get the right “70s” look (glasses down on nose, stand with a slight slouch, give me a smirk etc.) however he thought best. Thanks for everything, Dad! xoxo
