I’ve already started getting invites for Fashion Week, which is quite the reminder for me that fall is just around the corner. I guess technically it’s not until September 22nd, but I am still getting excited at the thought of chunky knit sweaters, turtlenecks, booties, blazers and blanket scarves…Read more
Backstage at Tracy Reese with Mary Kay

Whenever I step backstage, I am always in awe of how many people it takes to make everything happen. There are stylists, makeup artists, hair stylists, nail artists, coordinators, photographers, media, press, you name it and everyone has a very specific and timely job to do. It looks a bit like pure chaos, but everyone just works together to make the magic happen that we see on the runway.

The Tracy Reese SS16 collection was inspired by light; focusing on a theme of transparency and layering fabrics together. By using sequins and beautiful rhinestones, Tracy incorporated shine and sparkle but in subtle and organic ways. The beauty look translated by celebrating shine and luminosity, giving off a natural yet modern, fresh aesthetic.

Doing a final run thru before the show.

Tracy Reese Spring/Summer 2016 Makeup:
SKIN:
1. Prep your skin for a glowing, luminous finish. First, use the Satin Lips Mask, which is the best prep for lipstick ever. Apply it to the lips for 1-2 minutes to
exfoliate.
2. Mix TimeWise Repair® Volu-Firm Night Treatment with Retinol
with TimeWise® Luminous-Wear Liquid Foundation
to get that radiant look. You can use Mary Kay Concealer under your eyes as needed.
3. Apply Mary Kay Extra Emollient Night Cream on the brow bone and around the eye area for a subtle glow.
EYES:
1. Create a defined lash by using Lash Love Lengthening Mascara in black.
2. To get the bronzed eye look, use Mary Kay Mineral Eye Color in Amber Blaze if you have fair skin or Rosegold if you have darker skin. Start at the lash line and blend downward with a fluffy brush.
3. On top of the shadow, use Mary Kay’s At Play Bold Fluid Eyeliner in Gold Metal
but make sure to blend it in with the shadow, downward and across the
lash line using a pointy brush.
4. To really get an extra bit of shimmer and shine, dab NouriShine Plus Lip Gloss
in Silver Moon onto the lid.
LIPS:
1. Now that your lips are prepped, use True Dimensions Lipstick in Sizzling Red to get a dewy, “bitten” lip by dabbing on just above the top lip line and blend with fingers to create a stain.
2. Apply NouriShine Plus Lip Gloss in Pink Wink on top to the center of the lip.
CHEEKS:
1. You want to get a “just caught in the wind” look so use Mary Kay At Play Lip
& Cheek Stick in Peach Pop for fair skin or Razzleberry dark skin, which will give you a soft, rosy glow. Make sure to apply in a circular motion and
blend until you get a soft stain.
2. Optional: Apply rhinestone “freckles” for a bit of sparkle!
Et voila! You just recreated the exact look that was worn at the Tracy Reese show, so congratulations! Now go out on the town and flaunt it! :)
NYFW: The Art Institutes / Fall 2015
This past Tuesday, I was asked to attend and cover the The New York Art Institute’s fashion show again, where 12 students and graduates debuted their Fall 2015 collections.
The awesome and stylish girls that sat next to me! On the left is Wickett and in the middle is Ekua.
This was the second time now that I’ve attended this show so it was really exciting to see what it would be like to come again and see the different designers and models featured in a different season. (You can watch the full show here and learn all about each designer that presented.)
I loved watching this beautiful model who was so strong and amazing walk the runway.
The above looks are my favorites. :)
I loved seeing the back of the dresses above. Aren’t they beautiful?!
The show was amazing and I felt so lucky to attend. Thank you so much to Refinery29 and The Art Institutes for having me again and letting me be involved in this special experience. Congrats to all the designers and models involved! x0

MSP Beauty: Perfectly (un)Done Hair with TRESemmé!
I can’t believe Fashion Week is just a few days away! I’m pretty excited though because I have a bunch of great projects and shows coming up, plus a couple of my favorite west coast girls will be out here for the week as well, so that’s always fun.
Now, onto discussing these wavy hair pics. To be honest, I never really plan out what I am going to wear to the shows during fashion week, I sort of just figure it out on the spot, see what mood I am in and go from there. But, what is a little easier for me to plan, is my hair. I have been growing it out for over a year now and have been loving wearing it curly, wavy, beachy, you name it. And during busy, hectic times (i.e. #nyfw) I tend not to wash my hair everyday, so I really need reliable dry shampoo as well as hair and texture sprays that are going to keep my waves going strong for a couple days at a time. Seeing that I am also always trying out new products, serums, sprays etc, it can be hard to have a favorite, but I have found over the years that I really like using TRESemmé products. They just seem to work well with my hair, you know?
I love a good beachy sea salt spray. Excited to see how this one works with my hair.
That said, when I was approached by the brand to try out their new Perfectly (un)Done hair care line, I of course ran right over to my local drugstore (I found my product at Walgreens) and stocked up on a bunch of the product. I’m excited to give everything a whirl and am starting this morning by using TRESemmé’s Perfectly (un)Done Weightless Moisturizing Shampoo and Conditioner. I will also be documenting how I style my hair with their new products throughout the week, so follow along at @mystylepill on Instagram!
The five products I am trying this week!
P.S. If you have a local Walgreens near by you, make sure to use your Balance Rewards card from now until the 14th to get other TRESemmé shampoos, conditioners, and styling products for just $3.99!
TRESemmé is the official hair care sponsor of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.

Just a quick flashback to Fashion Week. Wore this to see Nanette Lepore and Milly before wrapping up the week with a dinner downtown with good friends. xo
A Night Out with J Brand for FNO
{Me posing in my hot pink jeans outside of the Chelsea Market}
Last night was Fashion’s Night Out! What a whirlwind of fun, fashion and friends. I teamed up with J Brand, who just debuted their exclusive FNO jean, (which benefits the New York City Aids Fund (read more about it here) and ran around the city for the first part of the night with a gaggle of pink jean-clad models and Jeff Rudes, CEO and Founder of the brand. We started out in the Meat Packing District where we took photos in and around The Chelsea Market….

Then it was off to Saks, where we had fun running around the store snapping more pics, chatting with fans and admiring all the pink jeans that were everywhere!

Afterward, I made my way down to SoHo to attend a few different parties my friends were hosting, as well as snap even more pics and chat with fellow bloggers. It was quite a night for me and my J Brand jeans. Pretty sure I showed them a good time as I bounced up and down the island of Manhattan all night long. All in all, the evening was a grand success and I had a wonderful time. Thank you so much to J Brand for everything, and cheers to a fabulous Fashion’s Night Out! xoxo
