Today’s post is a fun tutorial on how I use Real Techniques new Miracle Sponges to get a natural, fresh faced look. Click through below for the full tutorial and to see a sneak peek of what I wore!
Video: Easy Summer Makeup!
Hello loves! So it reached over 100 degrees here in New York yesterday and because of that it pretty much feels impossible to wear anything other than a tank top and jeans and super minimal makeup. Because of the intense heat, I came up with a really quick summer makeup routine that makes me feel pulled together but still allows my skin to breathe aka sweat haha. I explained my process below, but if you have any questions at all, please leave them in the comments below and I will get back to you asap! Click here to see more of my YouTube videos!
Products Used In Order:
I LOVE these wipes and always use them when I want to freshen up my face quickly.
2. Eau Thermale Avene / Thermal Spring Water
Lately I have really been into spritzing my face with thermal water to hydrate and cool off my skin after cleansing. It feels so refreshing!
3. This Works Light Time Skin Plump
I just started using this product and love it. It plumps and hydrates, and works well with my sensitive skin.
4. Too Faced Hangover Replenishing Face Primer
I heard about this product because everyone was raving about it so I gave it a try. Definitely loving it because of the coconut oil and the way it makes my skin feel. And don’t worry, you don’t have to be hungover to use it. :)
5. Être Belle Cosmetics Golden Skin Roll-on Caviar Eye Gel
I love this eye gel because the rollerball is cool and soothing on my eyes, especially in the morning. Plus it calms my under eye and helps with applying the next product.
6. Bobbi Brown Intensive Skin Serum Corrector
This stuff is amazing. When I don’t want to wear a ton of concealer but want to even out my dark under eye circles, it works wonders.
This stuff is great at evening out the slight redness I get on my nose and cheeks. I love how these two products work together to help even out my skin without making me feel like I’m covering my face in a ton of makeup.
8. Bare Minerals Bare Skin Serum Bronzer
I just dab a bit of this on my face to add a bit on color on my face without having to apply powder, bronzer or blush. Works great!
9. The Estée Edit by Estée Lauder Flash Illuminator Fluid Powder & 10. Sephora Collection Pro Featherweight Fan Brush #92
I got this at an event and have been using it ever since. I have also been using it as an alternative for a shimmery eyeshadow, which is really fun. Overall, this product gives off a great glow/sheen and it applies super easily, especially with the #92 brush.
11. Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara
If you guys have been following me for a while you all know how much I LOVE this mascara. In this video I quickly show the difference between one eye with it on and the other with nothing and it’s like night and day! Also, I wanted to say that I usually skip eyeliner when it’s super hot because I just feel like it’s one more step and I will probably smudge it somehow when I’m sweating down inside the subway.
12. Cover Girl x Katy Perry Lipstick in Cat Call
I have a bunch of her lipsticks (I even met her – she’s super nice!) and really like the colors and how they are easy to apply. This color (Cat Call) is the perfect summer pink!
VIDEO: Travel Edition, Get Ready With Me (On A Cruise)!
Hi everyone! Lately, I haven’t been embedding my YouTube videos on the blog, but because I am doing major catch up right now, I wanted to at least share this Get Ready With Me video with you guys in case you wanted to see how I did my makeup on the cruise press trip!
BUT, first off, I want to write a huge DISCLAIMER about something…I had NO idea that the background music would be SO loud! Because I had some issues with the format of this video, it definitely didn’t sound like that when I was editing it, so I apologize if you can’t hear me over the music or if it’s just plain distracting. That was definitely not my intention.
Luckily, it’s a visual breakdown of me getting ready and fairly self-explanatory, so if you would prefer, just turn the sound off! :) You can check out all the products I used, which are linked below and follow along that way if you’d like.
Anyway, thanks for your patience with these silly glitches, but hey you live and you learn right?! :)
Ok, so now onto what this video is actually about! I was lucky enough to go on a press trip with Celebrity Cruises for a week long excursion to the Caribbean.
It was so much fun and I am actually in the midst of editing my travel vlog, which documents the whole trip, so stayed tuned for that to come soon.
The night I created this video, we head up to the very top deck to The Lawn Club Grille for dinner where we proceeded to participate in a pizza making competition! I actually ended up winning with my pepperoni, caramelized onions and mushroom combination! It was SO fun.
Anyway, I guess I just wanted to share how I wore my makeup during the cruise as well as what I wore to that dinner. :) Hope you enjoy, don’t forget to give this video a thumbs up if you liked it, and leave any questions you might have, below! Hugs and happy Friday! xo

Backstage at Tracy Reese with Mary Kay
Whenever I step backstage, I am always in awe of how many people it takes to make everything happen. There are stylists, makeup artists, hair stylists, nail artists, coordinators, photographers, media, press, you name it and everyone has a very specific and timely job to do. It looks a bit like pure chaos, but everyone just works together to make the magic happen that we see on the runway.
The Tracy Reese SS16 collection was inspired by light; focusing on a theme of transparency and layering fabrics together. By using sequins and beautiful rhinestones, Tracy incorporated shine and sparkle but in subtle and organic ways. The beauty look translated by celebrating shine and luminosity, giving off a natural yet modern, fresh aesthetic.
Doing a final run thru before the show.
Tracy Reese Spring/Summer 2016 Makeup:
SKIN:
1. Prep your skin for a glowing, luminous finish. First, use the Satin Lips Mask, which is the best prep for lipstick ever. Apply it to the lips for 1-2 minutes to
exfoliate.
2. Mix TimeWise Repair® Volu-Firm Night Treatment with Retinol
with TimeWise® Luminous-Wear Liquid Foundation
to get that radiant look. You can use Mary Kay Concealer under your eyes as needed.
3. Apply Mary Kay Extra Emollient Night Cream on the brow bone and around the eye area for a subtle glow.
EYES:
1. Create a defined lash by using Lash Love Lengthening Mascara in black.
2. To get the bronzed eye look, use Mary Kay Mineral Eye Color in Amber Blaze if you have fair skin or Rosegold if you have darker skin. Start at the lash line and blend downward with a fluffy brush.
3. On top of the shadow, use Mary Kay’s At Play Bold Fluid Eyeliner in Gold Metal
but make sure to blend it in with the shadow, downward and across the
lash line using a pointy brush.
4. To really get an extra bit of shimmer and shine, dab NouriShine Plus Lip Gloss
in Silver Moon onto the lid.
LIPS:
1. Now that your lips are prepped, use True Dimensions Lipstick in Sizzling Red to get a dewy, “bitten” lip by dabbing on just above the top lip line and blend with fingers to create a stain.
2. Apply NouriShine Plus Lip Gloss in Pink Wink on top to the center of the lip.
CHEEKS:
1. You want to get a “just caught in the wind” look so use Mary Kay At Play Lip
& Cheek Stick in Peach Pop for fair skin or Razzleberry dark skin, which will give you a soft, rosy glow. Make sure to apply in a circular motion and
blend until you get a soft stain.
2. Optional: Apply rhinestone “freckles” for a bit of sparkle!
Et voila! You just recreated the exact look that was worn at the Tracy Reese show, so congratulations! Now go out on the town and flaunt it! :)
MSP Beauty: AERIN x Glossybox
Photography by: Camilo Villota
Last week I swung into the Glossybox offices to get dolled up by the very talented makeup artist, Tomy Rivero. He created a soft, natural look for me with products by Aerin Lauder, which is right up my alley because it felt very manageable and something I could recreate again easily enough. I always love chatting with makeup artists and picking their brains on their methods, tips, tricks and all that jazz, because anything to make me look glowing and fresh faced, I love.
Below, Tomy opens up about his process and how he created this pretty and natural makeup look!
What were the steps you did to create this eye?
In order of use, I applied the Aerin eye brightener all over the eyelid to prime as this helps reduce redness and preps the eyelid to show the shadows true pigment and help with longevity.
Next, I applied the warm peach shade in the Aerin Kaleidolight Palette with a crease brush and shaped the eyelid to create a soft contour for definition and warmth.
Last, using a large eye shadow brush, I gently stroked the brush to create a color wash for a subtle pop of color.
What brushes did you use?
Big Shadow brush for a color wash. Small crease brush for definition
What kind of primer did you use?
Aerin Eyelight Concealer in Light.
Where do you put the pink powder on your cheek?
Everyone’s face shape is different, therefore depending on your face shape, there are certain places where you should apply the blusher. As a rule of thumb, look in the mirror, smile and on the highest planes of your cheeks pop a bit of color for a fresh look.
What is the best brush to apply cheek powder with? Do you use bronzers and powders?
I like to use a big fluffy brush when I do rouge and apply a splash of color for a natural look instead of a placed cheek color and contour look.
What is the best way to create a rosy cheek?
Take a nude lipstick, as long as its not frosted and dap two dots high on your cheekbones and blend for a natural rosy glow.
What are your tips for creating a cheek contour?
Mix your blush with a darker bronzer without shimmer and brush right under your cheekbones for an extra pop of color after your makeup is done; this way you can tell how much you need.
How did you create this this pink sheer lip?
Aerin Rose Lip Balm – my new obsession. If you layer lightly, it looks great on guys too!
Do you have any additional tips for creating a natural spring look?
Stains! They are fantastic for Spring and you can play with really beautiful bright colors that just pop your natural undertones. For fresh look and translucent finish.
Thanks so much, Tomy! And a big thank you to AERIN and Glossybox for letting me be a model for an afternoon and to Camilo for taking amazing photos! xoxo

Makeup Day with Keiko Lynn
{My very bare face before she worked her magic.}
{The goods.}
Last Friday, my dear friend Keiko and I decided to have a fun afternoon of makeup and hair. She was sweet enough to sit with me and do up my face, curl my hair and take my outfit photos. She is a pro at this and I was extremely pleased with the final outcome. More photos of the actual outfit to come very soon!
Thanks, Keiko! xoxo
