My Birthday was on Saturday so I thought it would be fun to post a handful of photos from this past weekend and share how we celebrated…Read more
Birthday Weekend + Shopbop Sale!
Happy Friday loves. How was everyone’s week? Tomorrow is my Birthday and I am very excited. The celebrating actually started last night when Casey surprised me with tickets to see Romeo & Juliet at Lincoln Center. As someone who danced ballet and pointe for many years, watching this performance was pretty incredible. I definitely got choked up at the end when the dancers came out and took their bows. Such amazing talent!
Tonight we are getting together at my new favorite spot in Williamsburg, Midnights, (remember this post?) for a low key gathering with lots of rosé, oysters and french fries. Saturday is my actual Birthday, but I have no idea what we are doing because it’s a surprise, which I love. I’ll be sure to share the details with you guys next week. :)
Happy Birthday to all you June babies and I hope everyone has a fun and fabulous weekend!
P.S. Shopbop is having one of their biggest yearly sales: 25% off sale styles with CODE 25Extra. Hurry because it ends tonight!
I have my eye on this pretty lace dress, these wedges and this perfect tote. xo
Birthday Weekend: Long Island City, NY
As almost all of you know, last week was a rough one. Barney, our family dog passed away, so I decided I needed to take a few days off and just focus on the fact that it was Casey’s Birthday. Luckily I had something planned every night starting Wednesday (his actual Birthday), which really took my mind off things, and we went full steam ahead until Sunday evening…
Birthday Girl
Happy almost weekend, everyone! Yesterday was my Birthday so I took the day off and spent time with Casey. I pampered myself (or he did actually) with a mani pedi and then laid by the pool and read for the rest of the afternoon. It was wonderful. Then later in the night, we got dressed up and met friends for dinner at Cafe Mezcal and drinks at Nurse Bettie. Over all, it was a great Birthday! Lucky for me, it will continue on throughout the rest of the week and weekend, with apparently a few surprises planned, so stay tuned. Hope you have a fantastic rest of your day! xo

Today is my Birthday, and even though I am one year older, I am pretty excited about it. I have so many fun things planned starting with a big dinner tonight, how could I not be stoked to start my Birthday week? (Yep, I get a whole week.)
Birthdays are a funny thing – some people love them (me) and others not so much. But regardless whether you are a fan, in my mind a Birthday still acts as a marker and a reminder to show us how far we’ve come from the previous year. In just a few months, this blog will turn five. FIVE. That is incredible to me, especially because when I started it, I had absolutely no idea what would happen. No real plan. To look back to 2008 when I started all of this is fun, because I remember what I was doing, where I was working, who I was spending time with and even what I was wearing.
I am now in such a different place and feel so very lucky to be here. I definitely didn’t think or even know it would introduce me into such an amazing, supportive and creative community and for that I feel so very lucky. But, with that said, I think it is always important to look back to where you started from to appreciate the beginning stages, the growth that took place, and most importantly, those who believed in you from the get go. My parents, family and friends have been unbelievably supportive and without them, I don’t know where I would be. All of you have have also made so much of this possible, and I can’t thank you guys enough for sticking with me and continuing to come back to this blog everyday. It means the world to me, so thank you.
With that said, I celebrate yet another year of turner older and hopefully wiser. I look forward to diving head first into whatever the next 12 months have in store for me even though I really have no clue. But I have a good feeling it’s going to be a fun ride. xo
Lemon and Ikat
RayBan Wayfarers / White House | Black Market Necklace / J.Crew “Perfect Shirt in Wild Ikat” and Panama Hat / F21 Shorts / Seychelles Heels (gift from ModCloth)
Who knew what a fun combo bright yellow and purple Ikat could be!
You’ve all seen these shorts before (here and here) but this top is a new favorite. I recently picked it up from J.Crew with the help of a sweet little Birthday gift card from the lovely Keiko. She even snapped these photos. She really is the best. xoxo
Birthday Fun
Ali Ro Dress (on loan) / J.Crew Necklace / Charlotte Russe Bracelets / Steve Madden “Caryssa” Heels
Et, voila! The Birthday dress. I kept it simple with classic accessories and let the dress do the rest.
Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a nice and relaxing weekend, I know I did! It started with a surprise treat from “A” on Saturday morning, then a nice long nap and some leisure time before I started getting ready for the big evening. “A” and I went to dinner at Edi & the Wolf, which was excellent. But right before dinner, as I was sitting outside waiting to meet “A” Amanda (blogger of A to B) calls out my name and comes over to say hi. The best part? She was wearing the My Style Pill dress! I snapped a photo because she looked so cute. (See photos of her, and dinner, after the jump.)
Afterward, we headed over to 10 Degrees to celebrate with friends. I even wore a Birthday tiara! It was all and all, one of the best Birthdays ever and I couldn’t be happier. Thank you to everyone who was involved, including Ali Ro, and especially “A”! xoxo
