Almost to Seattle. So excited to kiss and hug him.
Happy Father’s Day!
This is a little belated, since Father’s Day was yesterday, but I still wanted to give the best Dad in the world, a huge shout out on his special day.
Dear Dad,
I can’t begin to express my appreciation for all that you do. Thank you for being such an incredible father, role model and confidant. I love you!
Love,
Me
Pretty.

Have I mentioned I’m obsessed with these sunnies?
P.S. I have been wanting to invest in a good SLR for some time now and this photograph makes me yearn even more for a really good camera. I’m setting my intention now…
Purple Lab Look Book Shoot!
About a month ago, I was asked to be a “model” for the new Purple Lab Look Book, which is the awesome makeup company, run by the very lovely Karen Robinovitz, and her husband Todd Cuso.
The day was full of great girls—check out the behind the scenes video—yummy food, but most of all, to-die-for makeup, which was applied by my very own makeup artist, Donna Neidecker. My “eye look” is called Eye Fashion. Here’s how you can get the look too, all by using Purple Lab’s makeup. Check out the names….aren’t they cheeky?!
Get the Look:
*Skin- Apply Pearlesque Show Primer followed by Silk Sheets foundation
*Eyes- Lashionista Modelista in After Dark, Luvah in Mama’s Boy, Luxury Squared
*Cheeks: Cheek Implants in Six Inch Heels
*Lips- Huge Lips Skinny Hips in No Panty Lines
After I was all done up, I headed upstairs to the outside patio and was photographed by photographer, Ana Schecter. She was sweet and made me feel less nervous as she came within inches of my face with her lens! I have to say, as awkward as I felt, I am very pleased with how everything turned out! Click here to check out The Look Book, and see all the other blogger models!
Thanks so much to everyone involved. Go Purple Lab! xoxo
Weekend Wear: Day Trippin’
How was everyone’s weekend? Mine was quite full and very fun. Here’s a little run-down of the past few days:
Saturday: We hopped on a ferry to the beach over in Sandy Hook, NJ, where we ate lunch al fresco, then took a nap by the ocean. The weather started to get a little iffy so we headed back to the city for a yummy dinner of ramen and beer at Ippudo.
Sunday: We headed the opposite direction on the train up to Beacon, NY. I first read about this quiet little town on my friend Becky’s blog, and thought it sounded like the perfect day trip. It definitely was. We wandered around town, ate at a tasty restaurant called Homespun Foods, grabbed icecream at Beacon Creamery, and ended up at the old Nabisco Factory, now known as the Dia: Beacon Art Foundation.
Monday: Yesterday was low key and lazy. We lounged on the grass along the Hudson, read magazines, listened to music and napped some more. All in all, it was the perfect long weekend spent with one of my favorite people.
What did you guys do this weekend? Did you stay in the city or get out of town? Was the weather as sunny as it was here in New York? Share your stories with me! I would love to know. xoxo
my style pill: a redesign in progress…
Good Morning, and happy Wednesday! So, as I am sure you’ve noticed, the blog has undergone some changes in the past 24 hours. I am still working out some design issues and a few tweaks here there, so if you don’t mind bearing with me (and sharing wordpress tips if you have any!) I would greatly appreicate it! I hope you like what you see so far and hopefully it will just get better and better from here on out! Thanks for all your love and support. You guys are the best! xoxo
P.S. If anyone out there knows basic code or has worked with WordPress blogs, let me know! I have a few minor glitches that I am trying to figure out as I go, but would love some help getting through it!

my outfit: denim on denim
Happy Friday, friends! Sorry for no post yesterday. My camera is on its very last leg (sad, and quite stressful) and I haven’t been able to take my normal outfit photos. But, I’m now on the lookout for a new camera, I think I have it narrowed down, but if you guys have any suggestions, I would love to hear them!
So, this outfit…denim on denim? I’m loving it. And, I tried the little trick where you tie the belt instead of actually belting it. I’m digging it. It gives the outfit a more relaxed, hippie-like feel.
Lastly…the sandals. They are by Steve Madden and great for summer. To be honest, I am usually very wary of ankle straps on flats or sandals because the style in general is not flattering for my legs, but in this case, there is a mini wedge, which helps in lengthening the look of my calves. The end result? I can wear a casual flat sandal with my denim cutoffs without feeling short or frumpy. Done and done.
Have a fantastic day, and enjoy your weekend! xoxo
