Two separate outfits for two separate occasions, but both incorporate pattern mixing—stripes and leopard—and are complemented by cognac-colored accessories. Very different looks but with a cohesive theme. Which one is your favorite? Night or day? xoxo

I have come to the sad realization that I haven’t taken any outdoor shots in a while. Between traveling, getting sick, freezing cold weather and fashion week, there just hasn’t been time to do so, but don’t worry, there will be a resurgence soon! In the meantime, I am going to shoot mostly studio shots because otherwise all you would see is me outside in a big winter coat instead of actually seeing what I’m wearing underneath. Seriously, it is that cold! Hopefully that changes soon. Okay, enough about the weather and onto the outfit.
I wore this simple ensemble to run errands today in the late afternoon. What I like about this mixture is that the bones of the outfit are very basic and simple, and it’s the accessories that really tie it all together. To create a similar look, start by taking away all the accents. What you are left with is a plain sweatshirt and jeans. But by simply adding your favorite hat, a vibrant scarf, a trusty tote and comfy ankle boots, you can zip zap your ensemble from casual to casual-chic in no time! (I also wore cheeky striped socks, which sadly you can’t see, but are still a fun addition that I highly recommend.) xoxo
Recap: FABB!
Vanessa (from Coach) and Jess
Okay, here we go…finally a mini recap of my whirlwind week. I have to admit, the day of the FABB conference I was a little bit off my game because a stomach bug decided to visit me at 3am the night before, so instead I will show you my day through photos. I also highly recommend heading over to Jessica, Taylor, Beth, and Kim’s blogs for more stories and photos from the day! So now, without further adieu,

Happy Valentine’s Day, my dear readers! Are you doing anything special tonight? My sweetie is traveling tomorrow, but last night he took me to a movie, bought me flowers and gave me a sweet box of chocolates. Our tradition thus far has been to celebrate Valentine’s Day on the 13th, which suits me just fine. :)
So to go back to this past week, it was extremely busy—full of great conferences puncutuated with yummy dinners with friends—but I promise to recap everything with my thoughts and photos very soon. Frustratingly enough I was sick with stomach bug off and on throughout it all, which slowed me down a lot, so I’m still gaining my health and strength back. But, in the meantime I wanted to share this photo/outfit with you, taken by the lovely Jamie Beck. I worked with her on a project back in the fall and when I ran into her at IFB, she was kind enough to snap my photo again! I was beyond pleased with the final product…she really is so talented. Check out more of her beautiful photography, here! xoxo
P.S. I have had a couple people ask me about this top. I got it at Forever 21 some time in early December from Forever 21, so I’m not sure if it’s still available. Sorry!
Time for IFB!
Charlotte Russe Necklace (c/o) (gold chains borrowed from Kim) / H&M Blazer / Tank (random store in soho) / Apart Classic Leather Slims (c/o) / Kenneth Cole Shoes (c/o gift card)
The FABB conference on Tuesday was really great (one highlight: I met Jenna Lyons, took a picture with her and gave her my business card!) and I finally got to meet some of my favorite blogger friends, Taylor and Beth, and hung with my lovelies, Kim and Audrey. Afterwards a bunch of us ended up going out to an impromptu dinner at Pastis and caught up on details of the day. I love how blogging and the internet really brings people together. So much fun.
Here are a few photos of what I wore, but I promise there are many more photos to come. But for now, let’s focus on tomorrow…the IFB Evolving Influence Conference! If you aren’t able to attend, you can watch a livestream here. Many amazing people are speaking, including the lovely Miss Keiko Lynn. I can’t wait! I will be a correspondent for Juicy and will be tweeting away all day so make sure you tune in here! xoxo
Lucky’s FABB Conference
Yesterday Kim and I dashed out to head up to the Fashion and Beauty Blog Conference! The day was be filled with amazing speakers, meeting up with old and new friends and basically breathing everything blogging. But I promise I will be back soon with tons of photos and lots fun stories, so stay tuned! xoxo
Scallops / Sequins
I’m finally back in New York and will resume with regular outfit posts tomorrow but in the meantime, I wanted to share the last handful of photos from my time in Boston. I picked up this silky skirt at H&M on Newbury street and am loving its scalloped hem.
With fashion week upon us, the next seven days are going to be a whirlwind of fashion, friends and fun, so stay tuned, there will be plenty of photos! xoxo
(En)Trenched In Lace, Continued…
F21 Trench / H&M Lace Dress / Coach Clutch (c/o) / F21 Shoes / UO Earrings
I’ve been in Boston this whole week for work and have been freezing my toes off in all the snow they have been having. So last night, when we decided to go out to a late dinner followed by some dancing, I decided to take a stance against the frigid weather and wear this outfit. I will admit I had different shoes in my bag so as not to slip on the ice, but it all worked out well. We found cabs right when we needed them and the club was a block from the hotel, so I only had to deal with minimal exposure to the outside chill.
I love this dress because of its its versatility and pretty pink color…it goes with about everything in my closet. So even though this time around I looked like the crazy girl with no tights on, next time I think I’ll “edge it up” a bit and wear it with black tights, black heels and a chunky black statement necklace. xoxo
