Don’t get me wrong, I am beyond excited for fall and the crisp weather, colored tights, and hot cider. But, when I came across these photos, which were taken last year at my parent’s house in Seattle, for a moment, I longed for those perfect summer days that we have in the Northwest, where there is no humidity and your makeup doesn’t slide off your face withing 2.5 seconds of leaving the house. Also, I love the way the sunlight is peaking through the fence in these shots. So, anyway, these are just some pretty photos to share with you on your Wednesday…hope you enjoy! xoxo
In the Interim…
This is what happens when it’s blizzarding out and you still have an hour left to kill before the next fashion show starts. In this case, I am waiting to make my way to the Walter show, but don’t really want to step out into the slush and snow until I absolutely have to. So, in the meanwhile, I am sitting drinking coffee and looking out the large windows at the Apple store in the Meatpacking district, waiting, waiting, waiting. How is everyone’s day going? Good, I hope! xoxo
Snow Day? Phở-sho.
Yesterday was nuts with all the snow that hit Manhattan, which really was nothing compared to surrounding areas, but still, it was like a mini-white out for a while. To avoid going stir crazy in my apartment by myself all day, I escaped over to a friend’s place to do some work. We sat and sipped coffee, marveled at the snow flurries, and laughed at the funny pigeons that were perched near the window to stay warm. Eventually we decided that food would be a good move, so we ventured out to a nearby restaurant and ate Vietnamese sandwiches and Phở, (my first time!) which really was the perfect food for such a snowy, wet, cold day. I hope you all stayed warm and dry. Did anyone go sledding or make snow angels? xoxo
Summer Flashback
Flashback: Mid-August on a carefree afternoon in Seattle. (Photos taken in my parent’s lovely backyard.) The temperature oustide was in the high-70s with sunshine and a light breeze.
Current day: Mid-October on a dreary afternoon in New York. The temperature outside is in the low 40s with rain and wind.
I was out in this rainy weather all morning and was finally able to come home this afternoon, take a hot shower, and make a fresh cup of coffee. I put on my comfy clothes, which at the moment, consists of a white furry hooded zip-up vest, a deep purple jersey dress-turned-nightgown, and bunny slippers. I must be channeling Jessica here! Anyway, as I got up to change my music selection from Frank Sinatra to Michael Buble, I pulled up my blinds for a moment and stared out at the rain coming down. I immediately thought back to my lovely summer at home in Seattle, and that’s when I remembered these photos. I had been holding on to them for a moment just like this. A moment where you need to be reminded that sun does exist, what it’s like to be dry when walking outside, and what it’s like to go barefoot in your backyard. These photos make me so happy, so I hope by sharing them with you, that the lighthearted energy behind each photograph shines through, and that the sun peeking through the back garden gate might add a little extra cheer to your day. xoxo

So it seems like it is pretty hot in New York right now, but Seattle has been having a bit of a cool streak compared to the extreme heat wave that took place when I first arrived in late July. And, I gotta say, the crisper weather has definitely been having an effect on me. I am already starting to think about what I am going to wear this fall. Plus, NY fashion week is soon to be upon us, so it is inevitable! What is the weather like where you are? Are you in full summer mode or are you dreaming of September?
Cute.
After this weekend’s lovely weather, I am not too thrilled about today’s rain. So, what better way to battle a dreary forecast than with fun galoshes?! I am loving Jessica’s green rain boots!

Rain, rain, go away!

Happy Monday! It’s raining in New York today, so here is a little pick-me-up photo for those of you living in the east. Don’t you just love her whole low-key, west coast vibe she has going on here? I am loving her color combination with the green, purple and blue and how it looks shot against the backdrop of a sandy beach and lovely palm trees. Wish I was there!
