berries on ice
Growing up I always loved silver jewelry. I think I thought gold was tacky for some reason, so off I went as a teenage, stacking on the silver bracelets and rings, until maybe about five or six years ago. Not sure what changed my mind but all of a sudden I became obsessed with gold accessories – especially oversized watches. Nowadays, I’ve evened out a bit and have an equal love for both metals.
For this particular outfit, I created my look around this new berry-colored jacket I just got (on sale!) from J.Crew. I kept the rest of the outfit simple with black and white pieces and opted for a slightly oversized silver and glittery watch from Fossil’s Holiday Collection. Then added a few girl, glittery bracelets for the finishing touches.

Ray-Ban “Original Wayfarer” Sunglasses / White House|Black Market Instantly Slimming Dress (c/o) / Vince Camuto Heels (old) / Maje Leather Jacket (last season)
Happy Thursday! I hope you all have been having a fabulous week. Now let’s discuss this little black dress. :) I am sure many of you are aware of the fact that I don’t often wear extremely tight clothing or anything too fitted on the blog. So when White House|Black Market approached me about trying out their new “Instantly Slimming Dress” in this sleek black style, I was hesitant at first since I usually save tighter outfits for nights out where the lighting is dim and you can’t really even see my outfit. But this particular dress is known for its built-in shapewear under silky-soft stretch jersey knit and has a faux surplice neckline that begins a descent of diagonal tiers that encourage curves in all the right places. After hearing that, I decided to give it a go and I have to say, upon zipping up this little number, I instantly felt comfortable (the fabric has a lot of stretch and give) and not at all restrictive, which is saying a lot for a body-con dress! I also like how even though it is very fitted, the sleeves and length are a bit longer and the paneling across the dress flatters and fits well over my curves.

All in all, I can definitely see myself wearing this dress again in the near future, whether it’s paired with pearls and worn to a fall wedding or worn out to drinks with a leather jacket and snakesknin heels (shown above). Now I turn it to you guys! I’d love to know – what are you thoughts on body-con dresses? xo
Nostalgia
Karen Walker “Super Duper Strength” Sunglasses / F21 Necklace and Sweater (old) / Zara Skirt and Jacket (old) / Sole Society Shoes (c/o – old)
I would have to say I am somewhat of a perfume girl. I have different scents for different moods as well as seasons, and love switching them up depending on the situation or event that is taking place. I am also extremely nostalgic, and in a flash, certain scents can bring me right back to a particular memory. So recently, when I was introduced to the new scent by Express called GLAM, I took one sniff and immediately thought of my best memories with my girlfriends, getting all dressed and going out on the town.
GLAM has notes of jasmine, sandalwood flower and black currant, and gives off a fresh yet heady scent when spritzed on your wrist. It triggered a fun and flirty feeling and made me want to get dressed up, put on my tallest heels on and go out dancing with my girls!

This outfit was inspired by my past and my present – a little bit of youthful flair and a little bit of sophisticated glam. Now I’d love to know, when you smell certain perfumes do they bring back certain memories?
What’s In My Bag: Fashion Week Edition
Fashion Week might be over for me but I thought it would be fun to share a peek into my bag and share what my key essentials are during this busy time. I teamed up with Staples to try out their Arc Notebook, which was the perfect addition to the other key pieces that I never leave home without. When it comes to taking notes, writing out to-do lists or brainstorming ideas, I am pretty old fashioned and love jotting things down in a structured, brand new notebook. I guess there is just something about putting a pen to paper that always feel satisfying to me, you know?
Here are my other key essentials: Water / Tide Pen / Ballpoint Pen / Blotting Paper / Gum / Charger / Fashion Tape / Hand Lotion / Chapstick / Lipgloss / Hair Spray / Keys / Sunglasses
Happy almost weekend! xo
The Kipling Diaries: Upstate New York
Ray-Ban Sunglasses / J.Crew Vest (old) and Shirt / Zara Jeans and Boots / Kipling Pahniero Bag (c/o) / Coach Watch (c/o) / Gap Scarf (old)
As a child growing up in the 90s, I remember Kipling bags as the brand of bag to have. Now, years later, I have the pleasure to work with the brand and integrate pieces of the collection into my style as an adult. For the next month, I will be styling up a different Kipling bag every week that work with all the different aspects of my life. Whether it’s heading out of the city for a weekend or traveling back to Seattle, I have found these bags to be convenient, versatile and very resilient against daily wear and tear.
For this look, I took this fall-appropriate, hunter green Pahniero bag with me upstate a few weeks ago to spend some much needed R&R with friends. I loved that I could stuff this tote full of everything I needed for a day of hanging out, taking long walks and soaking up the beautiful scenery upstate. I also loved that I could do whatever I wanted to this bag and it remained resilient to the mud and occasional rain we experienced. I just wiped it off and it was good as new!
Just hanging out on a gigantic tractor. No big deal.

Curly girl here again! As I mentioned here, I teamed up with Paul Mitchell to give some of their newest curl products a try. For this look, I used Ultimate Wave, which is a beachy texture cream-gel. Because I wanted a more tousled look, I didn’t use any other product or tool to define the curls, instead I just worked the gel through towel-dried hair, then used a hair dryer with a diffuser. This was the end result! I do have to say that this specific product is known to fight against humidity and when you live in New York during the summer and early fall months, it can be a constant battle to weigh down your fly-a-aways and create frizz-free hair. This product seemed to do the trick! If you want to know where to find this or any of the other Paul Mitchell products, click here.
