Last weekend I was out at a client’s house for a styling session and she mentioned that there was a mall near by. This was sort of exciting to me because in Manhattan, we don’t have normal malls. Sure there is fantastic shopping, but honestly, sometimes you just want a one-stop-shop. She went on to tell me that they had a Forever 21 there that was massive and not usually crowded, which compared to the jostling versions in the city, this sounded like bliss to me. So, I after we were done, I made my way over there and ended up finding this silky tank and a really cool necklace, which you can sort of see in the first photo.

All in all, my trip to the mall was a success and since it is so close to the city, whenever I need a dose of suburbia, I know where to go to get my fix.

my outfit: zac posen for target!

Happy, happy Friday my dearest readers! I couldn’t be more pleased that the weekend is just around the corner. I have lots of fun plans and can’t wait for everything to begin. On another note, it’s been a while since I’ve done an outfit shot up against my beloved brick wall, so I thought, what better time to get back into the swing of things than with a photo of my new Zac Posen (for Target) skirt! I went to his event last night with my friend Faye (her awesome business is, SocialSklz :-)) and we had a blast. There were lots of super cute things, including a very enticing red bathing suit, but I was good and only walked away with this floral skirt. You can’t see this detailing in the photo, but it’s made out of this brocade-like fabric that has shiny gold stitching all throughout, which makes it very festive and fun. I think that I’ll be able to wear this all year round, whether I go with bare legs and sandals or tights and boots. Yay! Lastly, I must comment on the blouse, which is one of my very favorite pieces because of the little white bird print. I’m definitely into the avian theme and apparently so is Kelly from The Glamourai!

My Outfit: Purple Crush

Okay, so this dress is case of love at first sight. Honestly, I walked by it once on Bleecker street about a week back, and drooled over it, but kept on walking. Then, this past weekend, by happenstance, I walked by the store again, but this time, I dragged my friend in after me, and after five minutes in the dress, it was a done deal. Anyway, since we are being totally honest here, yesterday, I put on my pretty new party dress, and wore it it for like 20 minutes—just sitting cross legged on my bed doing work—before actually getting dressed. I also created this outfit for pure fun and haven’t actually worn it out of the house yet. Methinks that needs to change asap.

My Outfit: New Boots!

For quite some time now, I have been slightly obsessed with getting a pair of over-the-knee boots that have a heel. Don’t get me wrong, I love my OTK black flats, but when I saw Krystal’s in person while she was in New York, it just cemented my dire need to purchase a pair of my very own. So, when I saw these on the Steve Madden website, I was smitten. They come up super high, but the heel is just the right height. The cherry on top? They are comfortable and easy to slip on over jeans. Perfection. Now I just can’t wait to wear them with black sheer tights!

Sneak Peak: My New Peep-toe Booties!

La-ti-da, it’s Friday and I think today is going to be a great day! I get to spend time helping one of my best friends pick out her fall wardrobe, take a yoga class, and later on in the evening, head to drinks and dinner. ; ) But, first, let me introduce you to my two new friends. Meet Taupe and Black, my new cut-out bootie buddies. I have been looking for shoes just like these and so I was super jazzed when I saw them at F21 yesterday. School Supplies

Now that it’s September, I really need to get on top of buying my “school supplies” for fall. This year, I think they will consist of this book, plus every fashion magazine possible. I’m curious though…have any of you picked up a copy of Scott Schuman’s new book? I love his blog so I would assume the book is amazing, but do you think I should purchase it? What about fashion mags? What are your absolute faves for fall? xoxo

My Very Own Melissa Shoes

Eeeee! Look at my new purple shoes! I am so excited. I was running errands today and went into Buffalo Exchange to try and find those black oxford flats that I mentioned yesterday, and instead walked away with my very own pair of Melissa shoes. I actually blogged about a pair of flats by this brand last September, and always wanted some of my very own. And what do you know, here were these little beautes just sitting pretty, waiting for a good home…so, I grabbed them up. I promise to take very good care of you, my lovelies!

I Heart Buffalo Exchange.

This morning I drove my Mom to her doctor’s appointments (she is recovering from foot surgery :( ) and then afterwards on our way home, we swung into Buffalo Exchange. Do you have one in your town? I can’t wait to go to the one in New York when I get back! Anyway, we found some VERY cute and affordable items. Eeeeee! I am so excited!
