Visiting the Cherry Blossoms!

A couple Sundays ago, Nate and I met my family at the quad on University of Washington’s campus to see the cherry blossoms in full bloom. It’s a Seattle ritual and signifies that spring has officially sprung. I decided to fully embrace the blossom theme and dress in my new favorite floral tank, pink trench and white jeans, which I had been waiting all year to wear and was so happy the time had finally come. This outing totally inspired me to start shopping for the warmer weather and I found myself being drawn to light pastels, neutrals and the perfect pair of cropped denim in an off white or cream color. I think white denim is a staple, but what about eggshell or ecru? It hadn’t occurred to me that this could be a cute addition to my wardrobe until I spotted these cuties online at Shopbop during their sale.

SIDE NOTE! For those of you that didn’t know, Shopbop is having one of their amazing sales where you get 20 percent off purchases under $500 and 25% off purchases over $500, with the code EVENT19. It’s only for a couple more days (ends April 12th at 11:59PT) so get shopping!

Ok, so back to what I found…I also grapped another pair of cropped denim but in a light blue wash, this awesome backpack in a pretty light brick color and these gorgeous suede blue navy pumps, which I have been looking for and finally found! All in all, I love what I got and know that all of these pieces will integrate nicely into my current wardrobe, which is always my main goal.

Scroll down to see more beautiful cherry blossom photos and some up close shots of my outfit!

Happy spring, everyone!

Plaid x Leather

I’ve spent most of this week in bed sleeping so I’ve gotten a bit behind on editing photos and posting, but fingers crossed I kick this cold by the weekend and will be back to regular programming by Monday.

I hope the first week of 2018 is treating you well and stay healthy friends!

P.S. Shop my sweater here!

How To Spend an Afternoon at Pike Place Market during Christmastime

I love downtown Seattle at Christmastime. It’s so festive, everyone is bustling about and all the decorations make me smile. Nate and I recently ventured down to Pike Place Market a couple of Sunday’s ago for a project I did for eBay and then ended up just wandering around taking in the sights.

How To Spend an Afternoon at Pike Place Market during Christmastime:

1. Start by walking through the main cobblestone street of the market and check out all the Christmas decorations. There are an abundance of wreaths, lights and trees surrounding the outside of the actual market, which is just so festive and pretty. If you are hoping to grab a coffee from the original Starbucks that is located on the same strip, you’re in for a quite the wait. It gets pretty hairy in there due to the influx of tourists, so I would bypass that and head to Storyville Coffee instead, which is located inside the market. They are on the top floor of the Corner Market building at First & Pike in Pike Place Market. Stand on the red cobblestone and look toward the iconic red neon “Public Market Center” clock-sign, and their building will be on your right. To get to the top floor, take the stairs or the elevator. Watch this video to learn more!

2. Afterwards, take a long leisurely stroll through the actual market and check out all the local vendors. There are so many little businesses tucked away on the different floors, so make sure to take your time and really soak it in.  (Make sure to walk past the restaurant that was featured in Sleepless in Seattle!) If you need a little bite to eat, pop on over to The Crumpet Shop located on the 1st avenue side of the market. They have both sweet and savory options and they are simply delicious, especially when they are hot out of the oven!

3. For a break from all the crowds, make your way to the recently opened MarketFront and grab a beer at Old Stove Brewing, (which is also kid friendly). There are amazing views of Elliott Bay/Puget Sound, the Seattle Great Wheel, and you can watch all the ferries coming and going. If beer isn’t your thing, there are other vendors located inside, such as Indi Chocolate if you’re in the mood for something sweet!

I don’t know about you, but this sounds like the perfect way to spend an afternoon in Seattle, especially if you have never been! If you get a chance to go, leave me a comment and tell me what you did and how you liked it!

Over The Weekend: Pumpkin Patches and Puppy Sitting!

This past Friday, I cleared my afternoon and had a much overdue coffee date with one of my best girlfriends at this great little place underneath the Fremont Bridge. It was so nice to sit with her, just the two of us and catch up about life.

Pretty obsessed with my new horoscope tee (I’m a Cancer) that I picked up from J.Crew when I was back in New York. They have all the signs available and they are currently 30 percent off with the code GOSHOP.

After coffee, I swung by to pick up this handsome pup named Kapono who we took care of all weekend while his parents were on vacation. As a surprise, I swung down by the marina where my Dad was working on the boat to give him a break and get in some puppy hugs. Ever since Barney passed away, I get crazy cravings to hug really big dogs. He slept with me on the bed most of the weekend, and is such a good cuddler. Being around Pono these last few days has been incredibly therapeutic for me and I think my parents as well. Look how handsome he is? He has one brown eye and one blue eye, which makes his face look completely different depending on which side you see. Clearly I couldn’t resist doing a mini photoshoot…

On Saturday, we headed out to a Swans Trail Farm to celebrate a family friend’s sweet little boy who just turned two, checked out the pumpkin patch (snagged a couple to carve soon) and watched hilarious little piglets run around.

I had another pair of shoes picked out to wear, but am SO glad I grabbed these boots instead because they not only kept my feet dry, but super toasty too. Perfect for climbing hay stacks and walking through the pumpkin patch!

Later on around early evening we decided to take Pono out for a long walk and stop for a beer before meeting friends for dinner. It definitely started pouring on us, so thank goodness for frequent bus stop covers and restaurant awnings! Luckily it wasn’t too chilly and we found a nice little bar with umbrellas so we could sit outside with the pup.

All in all, it was another great weekend spent with people I love, plus one amazing dog.

I hope the past few days treated you well and here’s to a wonderful week! xo

My Outfits Lately (According to my Phone)

I usually post photos taken on my SLR but today I wanted to switch it up and share some outfits I’ve snapped on my iPhone while out and about. Here is a small sampling of what I’ve worn over the past month since I’ve been on the west coast.

I find that I keep gravitating towards cropped denim, cute flats or slides and some sort of button down or tee. Then as the weather gets chillier, I simply swap out flats for boots and blazers for leather jackets. I’m realizing that this might (definitely) be my uniform… :)

I hope you enjoyed this post and found some inspiration for your own daily outfits!

Home Office Makeover: The During

Studio - painting 3My days here have been flying by and I have really been trying to focus on getting this space finished and start working on some projects I have in mind. I’m also currently expanding my styling business out here so that has been my other main focus as of late, which is why I’ve been taking a little break from outfit posts. But I thought I would give you guys a little update on the office and share where I’m at with it all!
Studio - painting 2I picked a super white paint to brighten up the space and freshen up the walls since this is where I will be doing all my filming for YouTube.
Studio - painting 4The space now has some furniture, however I am still waiting on a few things so I haven’t taken any more photos recently. But my rug should hopefully be showing up by next week since it was on backorder and I purchased this desk and this fun clothing rack. I am also working on figuring out which artwork I want to go up on the walls, but am hoping that the whole space will come together by early September!Studio - painting 1This originally was going to be my beauty closet, but instead, I am going to remove the two bottom shelves, install a horizontal pole to hang clothing and then add some drawers on the very bottom for jeans and pants etc. I also now have a large floor to ceiling shelving unit that is perfect for all my makeup and products, which I am in the process of organizing. Eeek!

Anyway, I have all sorts of plans for this space and can not wait to continue sharing them with you guys, so definitely keep an eye on this space over the next couple of weeks! You can follow my Instastories as well at @mystylepill. :) xo

Home Office Makeover: The Before

Studio 1Happy Tuesday! Last week I shared some of my office inspiration with you guys, but I definitely wanted to make sure I shared what my soon-to-be-studio looked like beforehand, because I think before and after projects are so fun to watch, don’t you?

This space in particular never really had a purpose other than being used for random storage, so the flow and aesthetic didn’t have a cohesive feel to it, but I’ve made great progress on it so far, which feels great. Anyway, many more photos of the during and after to come!

Here is what I started with…Studio 2 Studio 3Studio 7
