It’s remix time again everyone! So remember when I first styled this “confetti” sweater last week? I first paired it over a gray turtleneck sweater with OTK boots, but this time I switched it up a bit and slipped on my cognac leather pants with suede booties and my beloved Celine bag.

My Outfit: Lunch Date with Dad!

Today’s post features a fairly simple look I wore out to lunch with my Dad the other day. I created this outfit around these leather pants, which are my absolute favorite (I scored them 40 percent off at Nordstrom over Christmas!) and paired them with a striped turtleneck from Forever 21, my Everlane navy leather loafers and a bright red lip, courtesy of L’Oreal Paris’ long lasting lip color in Infallible Red.

It was a typical Seattle spring day, so I wore a mid-weight light wool overcoat from Zara over the top of the outfit along with my J.Crew inifinty scarf, just in case it got a little chilly.

The Marlton Hotel

Casey snapped these photos right before I ducked into The Marlton to have lunch at Margaux with the Lauren Ralph Lauren team. It was such a fun way to spend the afternoon. The food was really good (hello cauliflower custard!) and I caught up with some friends I hadn’t seen in a while.

The rest of the day was fairly quiet with a trip to the gym and then home to make dinner. Lately, I’ve found that mid-evening, around 8:30, has become my favorite time of day. It’s after we’ve finished eating, the dishes are washed, and it’s time to just relax with tea and a good movie or show. Last night we watched Rudy (total tearjerker) and then started The Green Mile, both of which we’ve seen before but I always love re-watching classics. Such a nice end to a great day. Anyway, I hope you all had a lovely Tuesday and here is to Wednesday and the week being half over! xo

How are we already in the second weekend of October and I was able to wear this outfit just a few days ago and be perfectly comfortable? Indian summer I guess. I am definitely enjoying the the warmer temperatures but sort of can’t wait for that brisk breeze to whip into town and remind us that fall is actually here. I mean, I have so many new wool and felt hats that I am patiently waiting to wear! Seriously, hats, leather pants and blazers are all I want to wear right now but instead I’ve been wearing denim cutoffs and short sleeve t-shirts.

So this outfit has some nostalgia to it because this blazer (and bag) were originally my friend Alicia’s, who as many of you know, just moved back to California. Last week, I stopped by her place a few days before she left and she generously gifted me this gorgeous Rag & Bone blazer (with matching pants). Needless to say, I was blown away and promised to give these pieces a good home in my closet. Thanks again, Alicia – miss you so much already!

crazy about…the perfect white tee

I am always in search of the perfect white tee, whether it’s a v-neck or crew, has pocket or no pocket, I am constantly scouring the web and combing different stores in hopes of finding exactly what I’m looking for. The end goal is a shirt that lays well across my chest area, doesn’t pull, isn’t too tight in the arms and drapes just so in the front. (No judgement, but Helena and I have had actual discussions about what constitues the perfect white tee.) So far, I’ve come extremely close with The Jackson Tee by Rag & Bone, all thanks to Alicia who wore hers to brunch the other day and just looked so effortless and chic, I had to go buy one for myself. But, I always like to have backups – different options and styles and so forth – so I decided to pull together some of my favorite basic, classic white t-shirts from around the interwebs, all varying in style and price points – and share them with you all.
