Weekend Wear: Day Trippin’
How was everyone’s weekend? Mine was quite full and very fun. Here’s a little run-down of the past few days:
Saturday: We hopped on a ferry to the beach over in Sandy Hook, NJ, where we ate lunch al fresco, then took a nap by the ocean. The weather started to get a little iffy so we headed back to the city for a yummy dinner of ramen and beer at Ippudo.
Sunday: We headed the opposite direction on the train up to Beacon, NY. I first read about this quiet little town on my friend Becky’s blog, and thought it sounded like the perfect day trip. It definitely was. We wandered around town, ate at a tasty restaurant called Homespun Foods, grabbed icecream at Beacon Creamery, and ended up at the old Nabisco Factory, now known as the Dia: Beacon Art Foundation.
Monday: Yesterday was low key and lazy. We lounged on the grass along the Hudson, read magazines, listened to music and napped some more. All in all, it was the perfect long weekend spent with one of my favorite people.

I recently went out to a yummy dinner at Ivo & Lulu and then out for drinks at Cafe Noir. It was a lovely evening, spent with friends, laughing, eating, drinking and generally having a good time. I didn’t have time to photograph my outfit before I left the house, so I decided to grab some shots outside of the bar. Little did I know that the rest of our party saw us sneak out and decided to crash our photo shoot!

They kept leaping in and out of the photos, and teasing me!

I am very envious of this girl’s hair. This is seriously my dream hair, except in dark, dark brown. Thing is, I just never seem to look good when my hair is parted straight down the middle. Does anyone else have this problem?
P.S. I have been reading ’round the web that a few fellow bang-girls are over their fringe, and to be honest, I think I might with them. I’m definitely contemplating going darker, letting my natural wave go full force, and then shoving it all to the side for an 80s side swept style. Thoughts? xoxo

Happy rainy Monday everyone. What did you do this weekend? I spent my time taking lazy naps by the Hudson, listening to good music, taking more cat naps, and wandering around the city. Sunday night, we cooked up a yummy homemade meal of King salmon, sauteed potatoes and a light strawberry spring salad. I even made a (relatively healthy) Fat Elvis for dessert!
On a fashion note, check out these killer wedges from Steve Madden. They are sky high but totally easy to walk in because of the double platform, which adds extra stability. I especially like the way the black parts of the shoe really pop against the light all-denim outfit.
