I was asked to partner up with Rent the Runway and Pantene Pro-V to create a festive holiday post seeing that the party season is officially here. It was perfect timing because I had a very fancy soiree to go to at the Trump Soho with Casey and was really excited to get all dolled up.

The process:
When doing my hair for a dressy event, I like to keep it simple and straight forward by narrowing my products down three: a dry shampoo, a flexible hair spray and hair creme to smooth down flyaways.
Since growing out my hair, I have really been into wearing it down and wavy. To achieve the look I wanted, I needed to create tight curls and then be able to brush them but have them still stay semi intact. Since I started with clean hair, I needed to create the texture and hold I wanted, so I sprayed my hair with dry shampoo and hairspray before using my curling iron.
After my hair was all bouncy and tightly curled, I sprayed it one more time with hairspray, brushed it through with a flat brush, then used the cream to shape the waves and tame any loose flyaways. Then, one final spritz of hair spray and voila, all done!
I had plans to wear the dress out later in the evening, but I knew the lighting wouldn’t be as good, so Casey and I trekked outside during the day in our ginormous sleeping bag coats and took these photos. It was about 25 degrees outside, and as crazy as it sounds and as cold as I was, we laughed our way through it. Because what else can you do? I am pretty sure the situation looked pretty comical – me in a strapless dress taking photos in the middle of the afternoon, freezing with no coat on. But it was worth it!
Later that night, I got all dressed up again, touched up my hair with all three products and bundled up to head back outside. Once we arrived at the party, we couldn’t resist taking photos out on the terrace. I absolutely love the one below that Casey captured. I was standing there posing and trying to look cute, and bam, a huge gust of wind came under my dress and almost blew it up! It was definitely my Marilyn Monroe moment, minus the subway grate. :)
Thank you to Rent the Runway and Pantene for this great partnership and to Casey for braving the cold with me and taking these photos. xoxo
