A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to join the Olympus team down in New Orleans to test out their new TG-3 and the E-M10 cameras. Over the course of a couple days, we stayed at The W Hotel in the French Quarter, had dinner at some great old school places, such as the Bourbon House and Arnaud’s, took a ghost tour, and visited a plantation as well as a swamp, where we fed alligators marshmallows! You can see some of my photos from my time in the city here, but below are some of my favorites that I took during the second part of the excursion. (All photos were taken with Olympus cameras.)

These alligators blended in so well with the water. They would sneak/swim right up to the boat out of nowhere!

The guide fed them marshmallows, which they loved. ( The guide assured us that feeding them this treat is not actually bad for them – phew!)

I couldn’t stop taking pictures of the trees and Spanish moss that seemed to be everywhere. I didn’t grow up with vegetation like that so it was fascinating to me.

Overall it was a really great trip. It’s fair to say that I spend a lot of time down in New Orleans, but this time I was lucky enough to see Louisiana in a different light than before. I especially loved capturing different shots on the plantation and during the swamp tour since I had never really ventured outside the city limits, so I saw things with fresh eyes for sure. I also had such a fun time playing around with the different cameras and lenses, chatting with the Olympus team and meeting everyone that was a part of our group.
