Shooting with Alex Ignacio in Santa Fe

Santa-Fe-Modern-General-Christine-Cameron-Alex-Ignacio4

This is a bit of a throwback post at this point, but these photos were taken by the talented Alex Ignacio when I was in Santa Fe with my parents, in early September. I had stumbled across this cute place called Modern General, (which is also opening up a new shop in Austin shortly!) and they got in contact with me about doing a fun mini photo and video shoot showcasing the shop. Alex Ignacio is the photographer who works at Narrative Media, and who was kind enough to shoot these photos (as well as the video, which is to come soon). It was just fun to work together on such a short and spontaneous basis especially with such an amazing shop and space as our backdrop.

For those of you that followed me along on my Snapchat, you definitely know about these cowboy boots. My parents and I went to Kowboyz to find a good pair and I ended up walking away with these bad boys. I really can’t wait for it to be a fall and style these with some dark jeans, a white button down and a leather jacket. Yes, yes and yes.

Exploring Old Town Santa Fe

Santa-Fe-Downtown-Christine-Cameron-MyStylePill2

We arrived in New Mexico yesterday in the late afternoon, hopped in a rental car and made our way to Santa Fe. After settling into our cute little B&B, we drove into town to explore the main downtown Plaza area. The light was so beautiful and it was the perfect temperature outside.

After walking around a bit and checking out the shops, we headed to dinner at Tomasita’s for some classic Northern New Mexico cuisine. We had yummy crisp beef tacos, blue corn chicken enchiladas and sopaipillas, which I had never had but really enjoyed. Everything was so good!

Afterward, we hung out in our suite and played a few hands of Rummy before heading to bed. All in all, it was a great day and I am so excited to explore more tomorrow!

Southwest Style

b74e9b3e98e083f700fd300ceba6ead7

Guess who’s flying out to Santa Fe tomorrow?! ME! I’m pretty excited to have a change of scenery that is so drastically different than the two coasts that I call my homes. I’m looking forward to desert, dry heat, large open spaces, turquoise… Yep, you could say I’m super stoked.

So I thought instead of sharing outfit photos today, I would do a little roundup of some inspiration photos that I found on Pinterest that struck me as very Southwest meets Boho-chic, if you will.

I’ll be honest, I packed extremely light for this trip home to Seattle and Santa Fe, but I brought with me a few brightly colored dresses, a pair of fringed boots and a couple of hats, which I plan on wearing all this week, so I promise to share a bunch of outfit photos this Thursday as well as next week too.

I also plan on doing some light shopping in Santa Fe and Taos, hopefully snagging another piece of turquoise jewelry, since I absolutely love the ring my parents bought for me from their last trip to Santa Fe, and maybe an accessory or two (read more boots and hats).

Anyhoo, here are some photos that are inspiring me at the moment. Stay tuned for my YouTube video tomorrow, which will share what I am bringing with me on my trip, as well as the usual Weekly Edit blog post, which will feature more shoppable Southwest-inspired, must-have pieces for the wardrobe! xo

In case you haven’t seen my turquoise ring that I am referring to above – here is a photo of it below.
