I moved to New York on September 11, 2004, and my parents flew back out a few months later for Christmas to celebrate the holiday with me in the city. I must not have had a proper winter coat at the time, because for my present, my Mom and Dad bought me a beautiful camel colored overcoat. It ended up being a bit too big so we exchanged at Bloomingdales and I ended up walking out with the gorgeous cream coat you see in these photos. It has been and continues to be my favorite coat, not only because I love the brand Mackage (can we talk about the leather detailing and tailoring?!) but also that it carries 11 and 1/2 years of memories with it and of course, because it was a generous gift from my amazing parents.

P.S. This combo of white, cream and charcoal is a current favorite of mine. What do you guys think, would you wear the three colors together?

Carmen Sandiego, Snow Sleuth

Christine-Cameron-My-Style-Pill-Juno-Snowstorm-New-York1

Yesterday, after being inside for most of the day, Casey and I finally decided to venture out into the cold weather to check out the snow and grab a hot coffee. Instead of pulling on my normal huge puffy jacket and heavy duty Sorels, I opted for some slightly sleeker cream and grey pieces to feel a bit more pulled together, seeing that I had been in my pjs up until then. As I walked out the door, I told Casey that I felt like I looked like Carmen Sandiego, and did we think that was a good or a bad thing? We decided it was a great thing (so of course we photographed it, haha).

This is one of my favorite winter coats that I own for two reasons. One, it was a Christmas gift from parents my first year in New York, and two, it’s Mackage, which is a brand I adore. I love the leather detailing and how it just feels and looks so unique. It’s pretty warm on it’s own, but I layered with a light down jacket from Uniqlo just to be on the safe side.

Truth be told, I forgot my gloves and after picking up this handful of snow, my hands were completely frozen. After I threw the snowball in the air I dashed towards Casey and shoved my hands up inside his jacket and shirt. Naturally he wasn’t exactly pleased, but I just couldn’t help myself! ;)

My love, My Mackage

front-7-zoom

OMG.

So, it’s nearing the end of the day and I felt like adding this little piece of eye candy for your viewing pleasure. I am pretty much obsessed with Mackage and have been ever since I first got my very own gorgeous cream coat in the winter of 2004. I have yet to buy another but endlessly peruse ebay and online stores looking for any that might be on sale. Today, I went to the their website and saw the Mackage Doddy jacket. Such a little beauty. It may not be made of wool and leather, but it sure is cute and the price tag is a little easier to digest. Don’t you just love the collar and puffed sleeves? And look at that side zipper detailing? I love me some zipper detailing…

Enjoy, my friends! SPxx

Work it.

backtowork2

Today is dreary, rainy and wet, plus it is Wednesday, Hump Day, which can sometimes feel sort of painful. Meaning that, it is the middle of the week, so you know you have made it half way, but then the realization sets in that you still have two more days left until the glorious weekend. Not always a pleasant thought. But, I find that if you are having a hard time pulling yourself out from under the covers when the elements look treacherous, try dressing up in your most favorite or inspiring outfit and it might give you the jumpstart you need, instead of crawling back in for another 10 minute (or in my case today, 30 min!) snooze session. With that said, because this rainy, cold day has made me slightly blue,  I decided to perk myself up along with anyone else who is down, with this cute “first week back to work” outfit. Just looking at it makes me want to run home and change into a more spiffier outfit!

I found everything minus the tights and jewelry—which can be switched up with your own accessories—on this awesome shopping website called Pronto.com, where you can find great finds at a better price! Click below!
