My Outfit: A Wandering We Will Go

This past Sunday (actually the whole weekend) was full of no plans or obligations, which meant that I got to wander around the city with A with absolutely no place to be. It was wonderful. Not to mention, it was a perfectly clear fall day—sunny and crisp—which made for pretty neighborhood photographs.

As for the outfit…the inspiration came from Katy over at Kansas Couture. She and I own the same bright red skirt and when I saw her wear it here, I instantly became inspired. I love the tan sweater I wore, but in the past have felt that it never lays quite right. I finally experimented with belting it, which helped define my waistline, and felt that it did just the trick in adding that je’ne sais quoi.

Happy Monday, Loves! Remember last week when I told you how inspired I was by Katy’s outfit and that I wanted to try and recreate it? Well, here it is! I loved everything about how Katy put her own ensemble together, and still want to find a similar version of her floral skirt (love the color combination), but I knew I wanted to work with what I had instead of going out and purchasing new items. As I was slipping on the striped dress and pulled it down under the skirt, I decided to let it peek out from underneath instead of tucking it up. I feel like it adds a slightly different dimension to the overall look.

Also, does anyone notice anything different about me? Scroll all the way down to find out…

my outfit:
hat: f21
necklace: fred flare
striped dress: H&M from Buffalo Exchange
skirt: f21
belt: thrifted (?)
shoes: the dannyy, steve madden

I darkened my hair! Did you guess right? I am extremely happy with it and plan on sticking with it for a while. Now I just have to master styling my hair with a middle part…

Enjoy the rest of your Monday! xoxo

Granted, these girlies, including Katy, from Kansas Couture, and I did get the same shirt as a gift from the lovely Cheap Monday at the Weardrobe Conference, but I am loving how each one has styled it in their own way. So, I have taken on the challenge for myself to see how many ways I can style it up too. I will post all the looks that I come up at the end of this week. Thanks blogging girlies, for always being such an inspiration! xoxo

Inspired by: Kanas Couture

I met the lovely Katy of the awesome blog, Kansas Couture, a few weeks back at the Weardrobe Conference and I just have to say, I love her style. I was checking her blog and really loved this outfit. We both got this same necklace from Fred Flare, as well as this t-shirt in one of the gift bags, courtesy of Cheap Monday, and I was a little hesitant on whether or not I could pull it off or how I would wear it. But after seeing Katy rock it so effortlessly, I became inspired. Stay tuned to see what I come up with!
