As you can see, I am wearing a few of my favorite things from Friday’s post – two things being my rings and my new shoes. I felt particularly festive and sparkly in this outfit because of my shirt and bracelet, but also because I am wearing my Hearts On Fire Diamond Bands (c/o), which I stacked around my Grandmother’s pearl ring that I wear everyday. I like the idea of integrating glitz and sparkle into your daily looks, and by adding little touches here and there, you can feel fun and fancy without going overboard. I’m curious…do you guys wear any sparkly touches during the day? If so, how?

Friday Favorites

VERTICAL_CANDLE

;

1. This Estee Lauder Lipstick is the perfect color for this time of year. I can’t wait to wear it with a sparkly dress to a holiday party. 2. When I am working from home, I always light this Le Labo Candle, which immediately makes the whole room smell amazing. 3. I recently picked out this Juicy Couture Necklace (c/o) at a holiday event and have been pairing it with simple pieces, such as a plaid button down or a gray v-neck. It gives every outfit the perfect amount of sparkle.
After four years of blogging and mainly featuring my personal outfits, I’ve decided it’s time to branch out a bit and integrate some different types of posts onto My Style Pill. Today, I am excited to share the first of the “Friday Favorites” series! The items featured are and will be strictly things that I love and that are truly some of favorite things at the moment. There may be pieces that were gifted to me, but the only way anything (gifted or not) will make its way into one of these posts, is if I truly love it. So, with that said, I hope you enjoy some of my favorite things! (*I may not post one every Friday, but will try to bring my favorite things to you as often as possible.)

1. A makeup stylist on a recent shoot introduced me to DiorSkin Creme-Gel and I was hooked. It gives great coverage but also makes your skin look fresh and slightly dewy. 2. Come the colder seasons, I am all about a dark nail. I have tried many and love many, but right now Estee Lauder’s “Black Iris” Nail Polish is my favorite. It’s dramatic and slighly vampy in the best way. 3. These gorgeous Hearts On Fire Diamond Bands (c/o) hold a very special place in my heart. Last year I landed my first big job and was in an advertisement for Hearts On Fire, where it ran in various magazines for the better part of 2012. During the shoot, I got to wear all sorts of diamonds, but at the end, I was generously gifted these three rings, which was pretty amazing. You can see my past posts (here, here and here) on how I’ve worn these rings, and the advertisement here.

Need I say more about these Zara Shoes? The best part was I snagged them on sale!

HORIZONTAL_HAIR

A few years ago, my good friend gave me this LuLu Organics Hair Powder as a gift. I still have it and use it on days when I don’t have time to wash my hair. It leaves my hair smelling nice and freshens it up without feeling too product heavy. 2. I have been wearing scented oils for years, but when I finally came across Tenzing Momo & Co’s “Egyptian Musk” Oil while in the Pike Place Market in Seattle, I fell in love. I can’t even describe how lovely this scent is – like a combo between slightly sweet and fresh. I even get stopped on the street by people asking me what scent I am wearing. :) 3. People have mixed feelings on how L’Oreal Elnett Satin Color,-Treated Hair Hairspray smells, but regardless, it still works the best out of most products I have tried. And I love that it is for colored hair – I found this little can while in London.

Thanks for visiting and I hope you enjoyed today’s post! Have a happy Friday and a fantastic weekend! xo

For those of you who saw my diamond advertisement in the October issues of Cosmopolitan, Marie Claire, Esquire and Redbook, know that I was lucky enough to don some diamonds for the day while participating in an amazing shoot with the incredible diamond company, Hearts On Fire. One of the objectives of the campaign was to show how you can incorporate your diamond pieces, no matter if it’s your engagement ring or a diamond necklace, into your everyday look without looking overly fussy or stuffy. (I urge you try this with anything you have in your jewelry box whether it’s real or fake jewels. As long as it’s sparkly or shiny, try integrating it into your outfit with a few other simple accessories, and you might find that you get a bit of a kick out of it!)

During the shoot, I became extremely fond of a certain triple stacked diamond ring combination, which I’m wearing above (minus the pearl ring). To me it exudes elegance and simplistic grace all in one, and when I think of that description, I think of my grandmother Rita, who encompassed all that and more.

I decided to wear the three bands around my beloved pearl ring, which was hers once upon a time to honor my new and old favorite pieces. Not only does it signify something so special to me, but it combines my own personal style with classic and truly timeless jewelry. Needless to say, I’ve been wearing this little combination every day and loving it.

I just want to say another huge thank you to the team at Hearst and Hearts On Fire. It was such an honor to work with two such amazing companies. xoxo

Stacked Rings: I’m wearing two Repertoire Bands and one Endeavor Band to create the look above.

P.S. Congratulations to Aracely (comment #55) on the DDF giveaway!

Hearts On Fire + My Style Pill

I am so excited to finally reveal this major collaboration that I did with Hearts On Fire Diamonds which started this summer and will continue on throughout the rest of the year, running in Hearst publications, such as Cosmopolitan, Redbook, Esquire and Marie Claire! I’m pretty over the moon about it all, so you can imagine my reaction when I finally saw the ad in the October issue of Cosmopolitan.

Hearts on Fire Ad - October Cosmo

The whole campaign is focused around diamonds, obviously, but at the heart of it all, the idea is to show and explain how to wear diamonds in an everyday, non-fussy way. In each spread, I will be offering tips and suggestions on how to wear different pieces as well as dishing out advice in Esquire to men who are diamond shopping for that special someone.

To be honest, I, like a lot of people, always thought diamonds were only to be worn when dressing up. But, my view quickly changed once I had a whole day to play around with and style up some lovely sparkly pieces. I got to wear everything from this beautiful triple stacked ring (see it on the lefthand side of the ad above, which I am obsessed with and you will also see incorporated into my daily looks very soon) to really dainty, delicate diamond necklaces that looked amazing when layered on top of one another.

Basically, I feel so much more inspired and comfortable incorporating simple and feminine diamond jewelry into my everyday wardrobe, which with fashion week now soon segueing into upcoming holiday parties starting this fall and winter, I know that my favorite diamond pieces are going to be just the thing to glam up any outfit, whether it’s drinks with friends or a fancier work event. As I have come to find, they really can be paired with anything since diamonds continue to be effortlessly timeless and classic, especially when styled the right way.

Anyway, there is my big reveal! So stay tuned for more photos and fun tips on how to wear devine diamonds, and please feel free to send me an email if you ever have any questions on how to style your own diamond jewelry or if you are looking to learn more about the brand, Hearts On Fire! xoxo
