Shooting with Alex Ignacio in Santa Fe

Santa-Fe-Modern-General-Christine-Cameron-Alex-Ignacio4

This is a bit of a throwback post at this point, but these photos were taken by the talented Alex Ignacio when I was in Santa Fe with my parents, in early September. I had stumbled across this cute place called Modern General, (which is also opening up a new shop in Austin shortly!) and they got in contact with me about doing a fun mini photo and video shoot showcasing the shop. Alex Ignacio is the photographer who works at Narrative Media, and who was kind enough to shoot these photos (as well as the video, which is to come soon). It was just fun to work together on such a short and spontaneous basis especially with such an amazing shop and space as our backdrop.

For those of you that followed me along on my Snapchat, you definitely know about these cowboy boots. My parents and I went to Kowboyz to find a good pair and I ended up walking away with these bad boys. I really can’t wait for it to be a fall and style these with some dark jeans, a white button down and a leather jacket. Yes, yes and yes.

Exploring Old Town Santa Fe

Santa-Fe-Downtown-Christine-Cameron-MyStylePill2

We arrived in New Mexico yesterday in the late afternoon, hopped in a rental car and made our way to Santa Fe. After settling into our cute little B&B, we drove into town to explore the main downtown Plaza area. The light was so beautiful and it was the perfect temperature outside.

After walking around a bit and checking out the shops, we headed to dinner at Tomasita’s for some classic Northern New Mexico cuisine. We had yummy crisp beef tacos, blue corn chicken enchiladas and sopaipillas, which I had never had but really enjoyed. Everything was so good!

Afterward, we hung out in our suite and played a few hands of Rummy before heading to bed. All in all, it was a great day and I am so excited to explore more tomorrow!

Madison Park

Christine-Cameron-My-Style-Pill-Lake-Washington-Madison-Park3

Last Friday, Casey and I ventured over to Captiol Hill where we had lunch at Barrio, then drove over to Madison Park so I could show him Lake Washington. We spent time walking along the water and snapped a few pictures before heading back over to South Lake Union to meet friends for dinner. It was such a beautiful day and Seattle felt pretty magical. Summer here is just my favorite.

I had to drop him off at the airport tonight (there may have been some tears) but I think the city stole his heart just as I was hoping it would. The trip was a great success and we had a blast. I will be in town for another week so stay tuned for more Seattle-centric photos! xo

Hat: Panama Hat (I found mine in a shop in Spain but this version by Anine Bing is pretty spot on) / Sunglasses: Karen Walker / Necklace: Forever 21 / Shirt: Zara / Skirt: Michael Kors (I found mine at a consignment shop, but I love this one by Current/Elliott) / Shoes: UGG (old) / Bag: YSL (on loan from Bella Bag)

Over the Weekend

Over-the-weekend-pike-place-market-seattle-my-style-pill-christine-cameron14

This past weekend I played tour guide with Casey and took him all around Seattle. It was his first time visiting so, of course, we checked out all the classic sites such as the Pike Place Market, Pioneer Square and Alki Beach to just name a few. Tonight we are going to a Mariners’ game with my family and tomorrow, which is his last day, we’re going kayaking on Lake Union then having dinner at The Pink Door before I have to take him to the airport so he can catch his red eye flight back to New York. I will be staying here a bit longer since I have a bachelorette party in Whistler this coming weekend, but am hoping to have some more great photos to share for the next “Over the Weekend” post!

Over the Weekend

Funny puppy. I like how it looks like he is smiling for the camera.

The houses surrounding Volunteer Park on Capitol Hill are so majestic and beautiful. I could stare at them (and cherry blossoms) all day.

We climbed the castle. 100 steps exactly!

While I was in college, my parents sold the house I grew up in and decided it was time for a change. So they left Richmond Beach, which is about 20 minutes north of Seattle, and moved to Lake Union to live on a houseboat for a year. The scenery was amazing from the top deck, which was of a perfect, unobstructed view of the Space Needle and all of downtown Seattle. Unbeatable.

Hello, hello! How is it Monday again already? The past five days flew by way too quickly, but I’m so happy I was able to jet home to Seattle for a quick visit to host a very fun event with Nordstrom and Top Shop (you can see some photos from the event, here), and of course see my friends, family and the apple of my eye, Barney. :) He is currently snoring away as I type.
Yesterday we took him to Woodland Park and let him run around to burn off some energy. He is the funniest of pups – I love watching him play, explore and smell everything in sight. Seattle is absolutely beautiful right now and the colors of the leaves (I’m seriously in awe) are breathtaking. Afterward, I met up with my best friend to walk Greenlake (don’t worry, I changed my shoes) and I literally made her stop every five minutes so I could photograph the trees and leaves surrounding us. The colors are just too good. Fall is my favorite and it never gets old. I just try to soak it all in and savor these perfect autumn days before the season is gone, once again.
I hope you have an easy week ahead of you, and I’ll see you tomorrow! xo
P.S. Can you find Barney?

A Morning at Murray’s Cheese

DSC_0019

Yesterday morning I took my parents to Murray’s Cheese on Bleecker for egg sandwiches and orange juice. Have you ever been? If not, I highly recommend going – it’s one of my favorite little places in the village. I also love having dinner at Murray’s Cheese Bar, which is just next door. Below are some pictures from inside the cheese shop, if you’d like to take a look! xo

I love the fall because there seem to be pumpkins, both big and small, everywhere you look.

This is what I call my morning errands/travel uniform/I-just-want-to-be-comfy outfit that I often put on, which consists of some sort of plaid button down, my favorite Zara leggings and a flat riding boot. Can’t really go wrong with this combination in my opinion.

Love, La Conner

Yesterday, my family and I spent the day in the quaint town of La Conner. We used to head up to this little corner of northern Washington when I was younger to admire the tulips fields, eat lunch at Calico Cupboard and then treat ourselves to ice cream. Sometimes we would even stay overnight at one of the quiet and charming little B&Bs the town has to offer. Needless to say, this place definitely holds fond memories for me, so it was extremely special to head back there as a grown up and reminisce a bit with my parents.

We ate lunch at the Calico Cupboard and I ordered the “Jewel Salad” and a cup of tomato basil soup. Their food and service never disappoints and they also have two other locations in nearby areas, so if you are ever close by, I highly recommend you check them out!
