I love a good facial. So when Olay approached me about working together to test and compare an at home facial using their Regenerist products against a pricey facial at a spa, I was immediately intrigued. I have used Olay products in the past and always loved their skin creams and serums, and this time was no different.
Since we all know that most facials out there can get pretty pricey, it’s nice to know there are skin care lines available that offer a way to treat yourself to a luxurious, yet quick and easy treatment in the comfort of your own home. I’m always on the go, and it takes a lot for me to schedule an appointment to see a facialist, and at a spa no less, so this sounded right up my alley. I decided to take on the challenge with my Mom over the holiday break and try out the Olay Regenerist Energizing Facial. It was a fun, girly day, and my Mom and I didn’t even have to leave the house! We lit candles, put on Christmas music and sipped tea while we worked our way through the easy step-by-step directions, in hopes of freshening up our skin, just in time for the New Year.
First, I applied a healthy amount of cleanser all over my face and neck, then rinsed with warm water. Next, I pumped four pumps of the Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Serum onto the palm of my hand and made sure to warm up it up by swirling it around a bit with my fingers, which generates heat before it reaches the skin.
I tried to mimic the movements a facialist would do, which are precise motions that stimulate and kick start your skins metabolism in preparation for the facial massage.
Then to finish up, I used the Olay Micro-Sculpting Cream and applied it all over my face, using the excess on my neck and top of shoulders. I used both hands, two fingers each, and moved them in a fluid figure 8 movement starting from the outer edge of my face, moving upwards and then over my eyebrows, finishing at the outer edge of my opposite eye. Then I gently tapped my fingers all over my face for a final skin energy boost.
Take Away Tips!
1. Start by placing your palm on your sternum and glide with slight pressure around your shoulders and neck, sort of giving yourself a mini massage. :)
2. Work your way from your chin up along your cheekbone to your ear, and activate pressure points at the corner of your mouth, side of your nose and under your cheek bones.
3: Then”drain” your face by massaging outwards while lifting your chin to your temple.
4: To finish, press your palms over your face to create heat and aide in the penetration of the product.
All in all, I have to say, besides loving the silky smooth products, which also smell really good in my opinion, I felt really pampered and relaxed at the end of my at home facial. My skin was glowing by the end and I felt refreshed and rejuvenated, ready to take on the new year! Thanks, Olay! xo
