It all started with this sweet little sundress…
With all the recent dress alterations that my Grandmother did, I had lots of fabric/hems left over and decided to put them to good use. Thank goodness she saved them! Here’s what I did:
I repeated this process four more times and now have a total of five new fabulous hat bands! To see all the different hat bands that came from all the different dress hems, click below!

My sincere apologies for being so MIA for the past few days. While on the editor’s retreat, I thought I would have time to post periodically, but that was not quite the case. They had us booked up with lots of fun activities and product testing that left me with no time to blog. Not to worry though, by early next week I will have my photos up from the trip, and can’t wait to share with you all the fun things I experienced! In the mean time today, every few hours, I will be posting some of my favorite things from around the web that I am currently loving. To start off with, I would like to share this awesome dress with you all. I wish I owned it. If I did, I would wear it with a huge oversized black belt, heels, and would do my hair up in a twist. Very mod indeed!
Happy Friday!
Hugs—SPxx

Cute. Loving those stripes! I would wear this outfit while sitting on the deck of a sailboat sipping a glass of champagne. Ahh…sounds lovely. Find it here along with tons of other cute items!

Isn’t this dress so romantic and flowy looking? I am thinking about bidding on this sweet little number which can be found at Liebemarlene Vintage’s online store. I think I would style it in a similar fashion—with brown lace-up oxfords, and a shoulder bag—but would definitely add a fun belt. I think it would add an interesting touch to opt for one that brings out the slight color of the flowers on the dress. One in cherry red could be pretty. Also, on a random note, I have been trying out new ways to style my newly cut hair, which is much shorter with bangs, and the outcome looks very similar to the style shown above. I must say I am loving it!

First off, I want to say thank you for your positive feedback regarding my new do! I am having a lot of fun with it and can style it all different ways. It looks cute brushed forward, to the side and even pinned back with a bobby pin.
Anyway, I mentioned earlier that I did a little photo shoot at Chelsea Piers. Well, here it is! The reason for it is my friend Hattie, founder of the company, Save the Date(ing), is throwing an awesome singles dating event tonight at this cool gallery in Chelsea and I needed to figure out what to wear. Hattie suggested we have a little fun and photograph my chosen outfit. I immediately opted for this red number, which is my favorite and is from Anthropologie.
I also wanted to show how you can easily dress up or dress down an outfit just by changing your accessories. So, you’ll see two different looks…one more casual and one more dressy. I decided to wear this white blazer with black flats to give the bright red dress a more casual look and then slip on some nude patent leather pumps to “chic it up” a bit. Anyway, the event is tonight at 7, and will be a tasting of single malts. Yum! So stay tuned for my report back on how it went, and if I met any cuties!
