My Outfit: Sophisticated Lady

I had a little downtime the other day, so for fun, I decided to play in my closet for a bit to see what combinations I could come up with. I wasn’t particularly inspired by anything until my roommate gave me her snakeskin-printed cardi and asked if I could do anything with it.

I slipped it on and immediately loved how it felt—super soft, slightly roomy and very lightweight. I usually opt for boyfriend cardigans that have  a v-neck, so this was a bit of a challenge to work with, seeing that the design is slightly more traditional than what I usually wear. But, after experimenting with it for a bit, I tucked it in making it more like a blouse/shirt versus cardigan sweater . Also, I solved the neckline issue by camoflauging it with my favorite chunky statement necklace du jour. I must say this outfit makes me feel very sophisticated and demure.

Sending a thank you to my lovely roomie, Ashley, for a brand new addition to my wardrobe! xoxo

My Outfit:

Earrings: Urban Outfitters
Necklace: H&M
Cardigan: Gift from my roomie!
Tank: F21

P.S. I am totally noticing a trend/habit with me and animal-printed pieces. When it rains, it pours…and I’m loving it!

Hello Yellow!

On this gray, slightly dreary Tuesday afternoon, this photo, posted on The Sartorialist, sure gave me the pick-me-up I needed. What a pop of color this sweater offers when contrasted against the beige background of sidewalks and high-rises. Besides the umph it added to my day, I also love a few other things about this look. First, I envy anyone who can wear their hair in such a daring way and look good while doing so. Second, pulling off a extra long cardigan as a dress is bold in itself, not to mention that it is bright yellow, so, kudos to that. And, third, I heart anything paired with gray. Pink and gray, orange and gray, and in this case, yellow and gray. Absolutely lovely. Hope you enjoy this look as much as I did! Cheers! SPxx
