How To Get Glam Curls With Got2b Volumaniac!

Hi guys! Today’s post is a video I created in partnership with Got2b Volumaniac on how to get voluminous curls. It took me about 20 minutes and all you need are these three products and a curling iron!

Read more below to learn how to get the look!

Step 1: Start with wet hair and spritz Got2b Volumaniac Root Lifting Spray on your roots and work into hair.

Step 2: Next pump a small amount of Got2b Volumaniac Bodifying Mousse into your hands, rub between your palms and work into your hair starting at your roots making your way down to the tips.

Step 3: Rough blow dry your hair, which will create texture and volume.

Step 4: Then section off your hair and begin curling it with your favorite curling iron. I like my Conair wand from Target, but use whatever tool works best for you. Finger comb the curls to create some separation.

Step 5: Flip your head over and begin spraying your whole head with Got2b Volumaniac Bodify Hairspray.

Et voila! Your’e all done! You should now have the most voluminous curls ever! If you guys have any questions about this tutorial please leave me a comment below!

You can shop all the products here.

Thanks for stopping by and happy Friday! xo

Style Script: How To Wear A Puffy Vest!

Christine-Cameron-My-Style-Pill-Richmond-Beach-Christmas-Sweater3

Recently a very good friend of mine asked me how to wear her new puffy vest that she had just bought and I immediately said to pair it with a plaid shirt, skinny jeans and a pair of boots, which sounds easy enough.

But the truth is, a puffy vest can be a tricky piece to style sometimes because it’s usually seen as a very casual item and something you might just throw on after a workout or to run errands. But I love to use these types of vests as great layering pieces to keep warm on chilly days while still looking cute and pulled together.

With that said, today’s My Style Recipe is of course, all about how to wear a puffy vest! :) I actually wore this outfit last year right before Christmas, but I still love this look so much and plan to recreate it this December. However, in the meantime I thought I would give you some options to shop this look if you want to replicate it!

MY STYLE RECIPE

What you’ll need to recreate this look:

1. Ball Cap | 2. Puffy Vest | 3. Christmas Sweater |

4. Plaid Button Down | 5. Distressed Denim | 6. Shearling Boots

Style Script: F21 Burgundy Leather Jacket, 3 Ways!

Get-the-look-maroon-leather-jacket

Hey guys! So remember this post when I wore this burgundy leather jacket? Well, I thought it would be fun to go one step further and create three varying looks based off of my original outfit. But instead of a traditional remix, which means wearing the same exact pieces different ways, this is something that I like to call My Style Recipe. As long as you have similar looking pieces, you can recreate this look, easy peasy!

MY STYLE RECIPE

What you’ll need to recreate this look:

1. Leather Jacket | 2. Blanket Scarf | 3. White Tee

4. Boyfriend Jeans |5. Aviators | 6. Pumps | 7. Favorite Tote

Ok so now let’s focus on the three looks below. Look one is the closest to my outfit that I’m wearing in the photo above. I wasn’t able to find each exact item online since my scarf and bag are from past seasons, but hopefully it will give you an idea of what to wear. Look two and three are varying versions of my original look just based off different colors and styles (i.e. black and white outfit versus cream, navy and camel), but again, all giving off very similar vibes. Does that make sense? If you have ANY questions, please leave them in the comments below!

P.S. I also created a fun vlog-selfie-style YouTube video sharing three more looks I put together based around the jacket with some pieces from my closet. So, if you think about it, that’s actually SIX different potential outfits all styled around one burgundy leather jacket! If you like this jacket as much as I do, you can purchase it here! Win, win!

PAPER DOLL SERIES: Sneaker Style

IMG_9114-2
Hey everyone! So I’m bringing back the Paper Doll series! For those of you that have been reading this blog since the beginning, hopefully remember those posts, which were so fun to create.  And for those of you that are new to this blog, basically what this type of post entails is, me showing how to get dressed in different outfits, shown step by step through pictures sharing the different pieces I am wearing.

In today’s post, I wanted to show how you can still feel put together while wearing sporty shoes. Don’t get me wrong, I love wearing my Nike trainers when running errands, but I usually have on a full workout outfit too, which means I have probably just come from the gym. So the four shoes I chose to style, are the kind can be worn out and about but with actual clothing from your closet so you can still feel cute and stylish at the same time! :) Alright, let’s take a look!

How To Incorporate Color Into Your Outfit!

Hello everyone! I hope you had a great week so far. So, I posted a video yesterday on my YouTube channel sharing how I incorporate color into my outfit. If bright colors intimidate you a bit, fear not, this video will give you some quick pointers on how to infuse them into you look, three different ways:

1. Feeling bold? Choose a bright blouse if you really want to go for it and embrace wearing color!

2. Opt for a bright bag and keep everything else neutral. Tip: Make sure you put your wallet and whatever else you need into a simple clutch inside your bag, so that if you decide the bright color is a bit too much for you halfway through the day, you can set your bag down, take out what you need and the purse doesn’t have to be a part of your outfit if you don’t want it to be.

3. Still a little unsure about bright statement accessories? Try wearing a printed or colorful scarf that can be put on or taken off whenever you feel like it. That way you don’t have to feel too committed to wearing it all day.

Hope these quick tips were helpful! You can shop the look below!

OUTFIT DETAILS:

My Paper Doll: Winter Layering With Vests

I’ll admit I am a bag girl through and through. But another weakness of mine in the closet department, is coats and jackets. I have quite a few ranging from puffy, insulated and practical to thin, unlined and stylish, which let’s be honest, the latter description isn’t always useful when it comes to the harsh winter weather we experience here in New York. What ends up happening instead is, most of my light to mid-weight coats only get worn during spring and fall, and then hang idly in the closet, until it warms up again. It feels like such a waste. Then recently, one of my clients and I came across these amazing and super thin Ultra Light Down Vests and Jackets by Uniqlo. Life changing. Seriously. All of a sudden, I was able to wear some of my favorite jackets that previously had left me freezing in the winter, simply by slipping on one of these feather-weight babies underneath my favorite overcoat. I highly suggest you check them out – they really do make a difference.
Below, I created three Paper Doll mini videos on how I layered a few looks with the same navy blue vest, three different ways! xo

My Paper Doll: Color Blocking, Level 2

Color Blocking-level 2

1. Zara Blouse / H&M Skirt 2/3. J.Crew Necklace / Lauren by Ralph Lauren Shoes 4. H&M Trench / J.Crew Clutch

Remember this color blocking mini series? For those of you new to it, I created a little tutorial to show how you can rock this trend at three different levels: 1-for beginners, 2-for intermediate, 3-for advanced. Last time we did level 1, today, I give you level 2!

____________________________________________________________________________________

How To Recreate It:

1. I used the same green top as last time to keep it simple, but for more of a challenge, since this is level 2, I took a risk and paired this lime green top with an equally bright tomato-colored skirt.

2/3. With a high waisted skirt, such as this one, to avoid bunching, and looking too much like a Christmas ornament, I opted to tie the loose extra material into a cute knot right at the waist to create a clean silhouette. I added minimal accessories, such as this simple peal necklace and cognac colored heels.

4. By adding a khaki trench as the final piece, it ties this outfit together and helps break up the bold color contrast. Now, in most situations, you will have to remove your jacket so if you really like this look but don’t want to stand out so much, try a khaki blazer as an alternative option.

Styling Tip: Invest in cognac colored accessories. In my opinion, you really can’t go wrong with this color when accenting an outfit. It really is the best neutral and goes with most anything.
