Alright, seriously. Check out this girl’s style. She writes the very cool blog, Second Skin, which I found her via What I Wore. I have to agree with Jessica, she is totally adorable and very inspiring. Take the outfit above, for example. I have been in a bit of an outfit funk since I got back to New York because all my clothes seem wrinkled and it is just so dang cold out. But, one look at this ensemble and I perked up. I am going to try and use this look as inspiration for an outfit to come, either tonight—going to hear Passion Pit (!)— or this weekend, which is my best friend’s Birthday party. So, stay tuned!

Inspiration: Mermaid Hair
Seeing that it’s the start of a new year, I am in the mood to change up my hair a bit. First off, I am going to get a haircut and possibly get my bangs back. Secondly, I am playing with the idea of trying out a slightly darker shade for the winter months. Those are two things that I can do immediately, but the third thing I want to try and attempt, is to grow my hair out to the length in the photo above. I’m not saying it will be easy, but I am going to give it a shot. I have always loved long, romantic mermaid-esque locks, so here’s to growing my own! Wish me luck!

Hello dolls! I’m on my way back to good ol’ east coast today, but will be back with a brand new post bright ‘n early tomorrow morning. In the meantime, I hope you are all surviving the first couple days back to work, and are staying nice and toasty in this chilly weather! xoxo
Gift Guide Part 5: For Your Music-loving, Concert-going Friend, Who Makes Up Nicknames For You, Sends You Music Videos and Who’s Hip To Everything That’s Cool
There are only a couple days left ’till Christmas, but here are things I hope my music junkie friend will take a liking to:
A subscription to Rolling Stone magazine so that she will always have reading material on the subway.
An iTunes gift card so she can add to her ever-growing iTunes library.
A balloon USB speaker so she will always have her tunes, even if she forgets her headphones.
A ticket stub diary so that she has a safe place to store all her concert ticket stubs.

Whenever I come home, my Mom always has fun little goodies for me to try on and borrow (luckily we wear the same size), but I must say, my Dad’s side of the closet has been proving to be fruitful as well.
So far, today has been me lounging around in my yoga pants, contemplating doing some yoga, but mostly doing work on my computer. When I feel a break is needed, I wander upstairs and take a peak into my parent’s walk-in closet (lucky ducks) to peruse my Dad’s collection of wool ties. Well, today I found something else that I love. I remember seeing him wear it the other day, and now it was casually slung over the back of a chair. The perfect denim shirt. I quickly tried it on—I was a bit chilly—but needless to say, it is now residing in my room. He hasn’t seemed to notice its whereabouts yet, but I imagine by writing this post, I am giving myself away. However, I will deny everything because someday soon, I plan on copying Garance Dore’s look, shown above, and can’t possibly do it without my new beloved denim shirt. Sorry, Dad.
Meet Barnaby!
We picked out this little cutie to take home with us in a couple of weeks. I can’t wait!
This morning, we got up and headed out to an area called Snohomish to take a look at all the puppies and to see which one we wanted to take home. It was so hard, but we eventually made a choice and went with the cutie pie you see above. All of them were so cuddly and snuggly, I wanted to scoop them all up and take them with me. And, I fell in love with the mommy dog, who was the most lovable fur ball ever. We finally pulled ourselves away from the puppies and headed home. I was covered in mud, straw, dog hair and more mud, but I could care less, however it did inspire me to get a little dolled up for the rest of the day. So stay tuned and check out day three of the Remix Challenge in just a little bit…
My little ball of love.
Surrounded by puppy loves!
Mom snaps a photo of me and Reba, the mommy.
Reba likes to lean. She about knocked me over by leaning her entire body weight on my leg.
Who could deny this dog a hug?!
