Wore this to brunch in Brooklyn this past weekend where I enjoyed eggs over easy, biscuits and a side of grits – it was the perfect cold-weather meal. And when it’s freezing and snowing out, besides a hearty breakfast, I always gravitate towards oversized sweaters, worn-in jeans and comfy sneakers. In this case, I opted for my new varsity-inspired knit and kept the overall theme simple by sticking with black and white accents. Hope you’re week is off to a great start! xo
brunching in the bywater
Last week, Keiko, Bobby and I met up with some friends in the Bywater to brunch at the yummy Booty’s Street Food. Lucky for me, she was kind enough to snap a couple photos of my new yellow shorts before we ran back in to devour our waffles and eggs!

I’ve been in New Orleans since last Tuesday and had a blast per usual. The people, food and energy in that town is unbelievable and I loved every minute of my time down there, hanging out with all my amazing friends, old and new. The weather was balmier than in New York (thank goodness) so I welcomed these breezy dresses that arrived at my hotel room in the middle of my stay. Just as I was getting tired of what I brought with me, I had two new options to wear! I decided to do a fun and simple “day to night” remix with this dress, since that’s usually how I style my outfits when down in NOLA – easy breezy. This piece is actually from Amazon Fashion – in addition to their already vast assortment of contemporary lines, they just launched the Spring 2013 10 Crosby Derek Lam collection, which is full of lightweight dresses, cute printed tops and bottoms as well as stylish handbags, so definitely take a peek and see what you think!

Chic Makeover with Ann Taylor: Striped Tank Remixed!

Happy Thursday! I’m writing to you from New Orleans where it’s warm and sunny, which is a nice escape from the snow and cold New York is experiencing right now. Yesterday, I strolled down to Canal Place and ducked in to do a little shopping while I had some down time. I checked out Ann Taylor’s bright and colorful store and ended up spending quite some time there trying on all things white, yellow and blue. I left with some great pieces that you will see shortly on the blog, but this also brings me to my exciting news!

I recently teamed up with Ann Taylor as a brand ambassador and will be integrating pieces from their collections on the blog over the next six months! To kick off this partnership, I got involved with their Chic Makeover program that starts tomorrow and goes through the 11th. All you do is make an appointment, go in and one of their stylists will take you around style you in their latest pieces. I invited two of my clients to come to the Flatiron location city in the city on two separate days, where we shopped the store, found pieces that fit their personality and aesthetic and created two completely different looks. I thought it would be a fun challenge to remix one item and it ended up being this great striped top, which I now own as well. :) It was so much fun to work with these amazing women – we had a blast and I highly recommend heading into a store near you and taking advantage of this fun opportunity this weekend! Good luck and have fun! xo
