Happy Friday everyone! So…exciting news! The photos from our bedroom and living room shoot that Lydia took last week are finally here! It took me a while to get these two rooms styled to my liking and there are still a few tweaks that need to be done, but I’m really pleased with how everything turned and am super excited to share the photos with you guys. This is just a quick sneak peek, so stay tuned for much more next week! xo
As I am sure you might have noticed, I am a huge fan of the website, Minted.com, and have linked to the site here as well as on Instagram, of some of the pieces we have hanging in our apartment. I love going there for fun and interesting art because not only is it affordable, but they will frame your pieces for you! Win, win!
Remember last month when I shared this photo of my living room and talked about all the things I wanted to do to it? Well it’s been a little over a month and we have made a few changes, so click the read more below to find out!
For those of you that follow on me Instagram or Facebook, I am sure you saw the first photo I shared of my gallery wall or this photo, which is similar to the one above. I love my apartment and have lived in it for quite a long time now, first with a roommate, then by myself and now with Casey, and it’s truly become my New York home. I say New York home because I also consider my house in Seattle, my other home. Call me bi-coastal I guess. :) Anyway, I have been working really hard at getting the space to where I want it (with Casey weighing in as well of course) and last night I was finally happy enough with it to take a photo to share the progress with you guys!
Paint: The main wall used to be a dark turquoise and now it’s a pretty light gray. I love it so much.
Art: The Givenchy print, which I got from One Kings Lane, used to be on the wall between the two windows, but I swapped it out with our new print, courtesy of Minted.
Chair: I brought my acrylic chair from Ikea up from my office and decided to use it as accent seating versus the previous dark velvet chair I had there before. I just felt like the shape and material of the new piece lightened up the space more and I had fun covering it in a faux sheepskin throw and cheeky Kate Spade throw pillow. I also found a perfect spot to display my ten years worth of Vogue magazines without taking up any room!
Paint: We painted the main wall a pretty light gray but now I am thinking about painting the whole room the same shade. I am not loving how the “apartment white” on the other walls looks so yellow in comparison.
Stay tuned for more updates on my Snapchat, Instagram, (both handles are @mystylepill) and of course, here on the blog! xo
Hi everyone! How was your holiday? I’ve been in heaven here, spending the past two weeks enjoying quality time with my family, seeing good friends and cuddling with my favorite pup, Barney.
One of my favorite things to do when at home in Seattle is to visit an area called Richmond Beach, which is where I grew up. My friend Steph and I drove down there last week and took in the beautiful view and reminisced about being 17, driving around listening to music and talking about boys.
There is something about being next to a large body of water (more specifically, the ocean) that is so calming to me. I could sit on a piece of driftwood for hours, with this view in front of me, and be as happy as a clam.
Hi guys, happy Monday! Hope everyone’s weekend was great. I spent mine relaxing with my family and catching up with friends. It feels so good to be home.
My Dad shot these photos for me when we were out and about running errands in Fremont. I thought this wall mural was a nice, colorful change and felt like it contrasted nicely with my mostly grey and blue outfit, which now brings me to my look.
So, I had my eye on these grey leather pants and finally was able to snag them due to them being heavily on sale and some unused credit at Shopbop. They are so comfortable and such a pretty color. I actually took them to the tailor to get them shortened, right after photographing them, and can’t wait to get them back in a few weeks. I have a feeling they will be in heavy rotation over the next couple of months.
They are super comfortable and really well made. The leather is soft and flexible but also weather resilient at the same time. I absolutely love them and am currently on the wait list for the burgundy, and black version as well.
Yesterday, I spent the afternoon hanging out on the mud flats, and actually wore these wedges. I figured why not photograph the outfit with them on because realistically, these are the shoes I would’ve worn with this look anywhere else. But that said, I did have a pair of flip flops in my bag, however that would have been much too practical, right? My boring little flops would have taken away from the overall ensemble, and plus, the challenge of balancing in my sky high wedges while precariously walking over rocks and wet sand was much more fun. I know my Dad got a kick out of watching me hobble over the stones and shells, but I’m pretty positive, my Grandmother, Rita, would have been extremely proud. All in the name of fashion, right?
P.S. Thank to my amazing Dad for taking these photos. He always manages to remain patient and supportive no matter what the situation. xo
