Inspired By: Kendi Everyday

Banana Republic Blazer (gift from friend) / F21 Checked Shirt (thrifted from Buffalo Exchange) / J.Crew Belt / Vintage Republic Jeans (c/o) / Charlotte Russe Bracelets (c/o) / Emma Stine “Golden Fauna” Earrings (c/o) / Aldo Shoes (c/o)

Hence the title of this post, I’m pretty sure that the lovely Kendi from the popular blog, Kendi Everyday, is the inspiration behind this checked shirt. She has worn this gingham version quite a few times in different ways, and never fails to look adorable in it, thus leaving me wanting one of my very own. So, you can imagine my excitement when I came across this perfect piece while shopping around in Seattle with A. Plus, it was like $9, so it was clearly a no brainer.

I can only imagine all the different ways I can and will wear this button-down all year round, so I’d like to thank you, dear Kendi, for providing the inspiration in the first place. Also, I’d like to send out a thank you to the random person who sold this awesome shirt to Buffalo Exchange. Rock on.

  • Perfection! I have a black and grey check shirt, but I never wear it because I’m always worried about looking too “country.” Probably because I was raised in the country, but that’s another story. But the way you’ve styled it looks so chic! I’m probably gonna have to copy you. Hope you don’t mind.

This has to be one of my favorite outfits I have ever seen you wear! It is casual yet professional, clean and crisp and really easy to put together. I could see myself doing something like this if I had the pieces… and now I have an idea for more business meeting attire.

I’m not usually a “high fashion” gal, but some of your outfits are true inspiration pieces, and this is one of them. Thank you!

  • I totally see Kendi in this. You look so lovely. That blue just makes you glow.
