My Outfit: In the Jungle

Here are a few fun outfit shots that Keiko took after she did my hair and makeup. I don’t know why I felt like the post title is very fitting. Maybe it’s the fact that skirt is army green…who knows…

Let’s chat for another minute about this outfit…it was another ensemble that came together quite easily. Honestly, I saw this skirt at H&M, fell in love with it and immediately imagined wearing it with my black lace crop top of ModCloth. The hair and makeup was already done, and as far as the accessories went, I just sort of piled on the necklaces, and wore my favorite wedges so that the skirt wouldn’t drag on the ground.

That’s about it, simple as that! But, don’t you worry, I plan on remixing this skirt as least two or three times more at least. :) xoxo

My Outfit: Staying Breezy

DSC_0026

RayBan Wayfares / J.Crew necklace (gifted by Dove) / Mod Cloth Yangtze River Romper (sold out, sorry!) / Forever 21 Shorts / Coach Heels

I stopped into Forever 21 the other day and came across the perfect pair of high-waisted shorts. I was really taken by the detailing on the front, plus the material is super light with a breezy-like quality, which will be perfect for the humid weather I have to look forward to on Thursday when I fly back to New York. But, in the meantime, before I head back to a very steamy city, I am going to enjoy wearing them here, where it is a comfortable 75 degrees sans the humidity.

By the way, do you guys recognize this top? If you do, you would remember it in the form of a romper that I wore here, and tucked in, here and here. As much as I loved it as it was, I found that I wasn’t wearing it as much as I should be. So, I decided to partake in a little DIY project and ended up turning it into a cute little crop top.

P.S. If  by chance, anyone is able to find these shorts online, would you mind sending me the link? I couldn’t find them anywhere on the website. Thanks! xoxo

My Outfit: More Lace, More Layering

IMG_0120
Urban Outfitters Earrings / Necklaces from H&M and Buffalo Exchange / Gifted Cardigan (from roommate, need to find out where she bought it) / ModCloth Agyness Top (also seen in yesterday’s post, as well as here and here), Forever 21 Lace Tank / Forever 21 Skirt / Gifted Bag from Coach /Steve Madden Daynty heels

Once again, I resorted to a very similar combination as the outfit that I posted yesterday. I just can’t seem to get enough of this type of look lately! It’s so simple and easy, plus I really am a sucker for lots of layering.

Jenni and I at an event sponsored by Dove. It was a great time. We walked away with yummy smelling pomegranate and lemon verbena deodorant, which I definitely recommend, plus this gorgeous necklace. Thanks for having us, Dove!

I’ve been a little late in posting some outfit shots from events that I attended before I left for Seattle, so I thought now would be a good time to get caught up. After going through all my recent photos, I started seeing a trend. It seems I am really quite obsessed with these drapey tanks and cropped tops, and then combining them all together in different ways. I think it’d be fun to do a little remix round-up and see all the various ways I’ve worn this type of “formulaic ensemble.” Stay tuned!

My Outfit: Animal and Ikat

IMG_0043

Today I took the train way uptown for a fun interview and to talk about my personal style, and the blog. I will share more on that soon,  but first let’s discuss le ensemble. So, I really wanted to incorporate my new animal-print tank—the one I wore the other day—into yesterday’s outfit. I’ve found that I’ve been living in these loose, lightweight, trapeze-y type tanks for the past couple weeks because they are so comfortable and perfect for warm summer days.

Yesterday was no different—this printed tank worked well for me with all my running about town. My layered pieces consisted of my lace crop-top and trusty ikat-printed skirt, which helped give the whole look a little extra “umph.” Plus, they helped break up the solid combination of mixed prints.

As for my accessories and shoes, you can’t go wrong with neutral-colored heels and a single statement necklace, which in my opinion helped bring the whole outfit together.

My Outfit: I’ll Be In The Sky

IMG_9890

IMG_9891

So far this week, you’ve seen these shoes styled up with lace and stripes, with chambray and studs, and now this: a very dressed down ensemble, which involves a sweatshirt and cigarette pants. I worked in the lace top once again, which seems to go with everything. Thank you again, ModCloth!

I like the juxtaposition of the casual sweatshirt material against the girly white lace peeking out, coupled with beatnik slim black pants and Wayfares. (One day I will own a real pair of Ray-Ban Wayfarers.) These heels may be sky-high and pretty snazzy all around, but I think they blend  quite well with this look. Thoughts?

My Outfit: Back In Business

IMG_9843

IMG_9853

Hello, hello! I’m sorry for the radio silence over the past few days, but I’m back, and with new shoes! I love the fun snakeskin print, the shiny gold platform and how tall they make me! I usually claim to be 5″4′, but am really 5″ 3/4′, so slipping on a five inch heel is just the thing to make me feel long and leggy.

You guys have all seen this striped dress many times, both as a top and as a dress, but I am always looking for ways to integrate it into my outfits. This time, I decided to try a slightly different and dressier version of this outfit, and layered with my new white lace top. I also like how the mix of snakeskin and stripes creates an interesting combination.

Do you guys have a pair of heels that instantly make you feel great, the minute you put them on? How tall are they? And, are they comfortable? xoxo

My Outfit: Hang Loose, Hang Tough

IMG_9715

IMG_9710

I really like the juxtaposition of edgy/relaxed that’s happening here. Mixing lace, ripped jeans, platforms, a straw fedora and wayfarers was pretty fun to experiment with, but came together pretty effortlessly. In my mind, that is always the best kind of outfit—when it doesn’t feel forced, but still looks fun.

I am especially digging my new Agyness top from ModCloth. I ususally can’t wear cropped tops like this because of  the way the style falls on me, but this one happily proved me wrong. (I also slipped it on over my striped trapeze top from Express, which was cute as well.)

My Outfit:
Hat: F21
Lace top: Agyness Top
Striped tank: Banana Republic
Jeans: Gap
Shoes: Trackks, Steve Madden

P.S. Get ready for a remix roundup soon. I’m in the midst of gathering all my outfits that feature the “famous” striped Shark Bite tank, so stay tuned!
