So you know when you have that kind of week when you are constantly one day off? I thought yesterday was Tuesday and then last night when I was editing my YouTube video, it was past midnight as I was scheduling it, so I guess the computer read it to go live on April 22nd not the 21st. Awesome.
Anyway, I did actually catch it in time and got it up around 7pm, thanks to my Godmother who texted me about it not showing up earlier in the day. Thank you, Margret! :) Regardless of that small snafu, I do in fact have a new video ready in case you guys didn’t catch it yesterday, so take a look if you have a moment ! xo
Casey and I spent this past weekend in Dallas on behalf of Mary Kay to attend the 50th Anniversary of the Academy of Country Music Awards, which was an absolute blast. I should be getting more photos from the weekend soon and will share them once they arrive, but in the meantime here are some iPhone snaps from the past few days.
What I wore to attend the ACM Party For A Cause. I love these cowboy boots…I found them in a vintage shop years ago and unfortunately never really wear them, but they were definitely perfect for this weekend!
Casey and I just before they evacuated us from our seats due to a tornado watch. Yep. That happened. We spent the next few hours huddled wherever could find some shelter from the crazy blowing wind and rain. Sadly, we missed the show all together because they didn’t resume until 11:30PM. Such a bummer, but an adventure nonetheless!
And finally, all dolled up for the 50th ACM Awards! We all got our hair done at Era Salon and the very talented Luis, who works on Project Runway, did my makeup. I was thrilled with the outcome.
I will have more outfit shots of what I wore this weekend up tomorrow as well as a new YouTube video, so make sure to check back to see all of that. But if you want to see more behind the scenes from this weekend, find me (or sign up if you haven’t already) on Snapchat and follow me at mystylepill. I snapped a bunch of live music by Garth, Reba and more!
Hope you guys had a great weekend and I’ll see you tomorrow!
And thank you Mary Kay for having us, it was an amazing weekend! xo
Hey everyone and happy Thursday! Aren’t you so happy the weekend is just around the corner. I know I am because tomorrow I am escaping the city with Casey for a quick weekend to Dallas, where the weather is supposed to be 70 degrees! I will be down there with Mary Kay for the Academy of Country Music awards (more on that to come) but in the meantime, if you have a moment, take a minute to check out today’s video. It is all about what I am packing to bring with me and I will be debuting how I styled everything up on next Tuesday’s video, so stay tuned.
Casey and I drove up to Bellingham yesterday to visit my old college campus, Western Washington University (I also went to Fairhaven College for those of you that are familiar with the schools), which was so much fun and definitely a walk down memory lane for me. The town is only about an hour and a half away from Seattle, so we decided to take a little trip up there to show him my old stomping grounds. Luckily it was beautiful out and we caught some amazing views along the way and down by the water. One of my favorite parks between Bellingham and Fairhaven is called Boulevard Park. I’ll let the photo below speak for itself. :)
I found the “evil eye” necklace at a little boutique in Marblehead, Mass. back in November, and Casey bought me the giraffe necklace for Christmas. :)

We had a blast and I am so happy I was able to share the day up there with him.
Last Friday, Casey and I ventured over to Captiol Hill where we had lunch at Barrio, then drove over to Madison Park so I could show him Lake Washington. We spent time walking along the water and snapped a few pictures before heading back over to South Lake Union to meet friends for dinner. It was such a beautiful day and Seattle felt pretty magical. Summer here is just my favorite.
I had to drop him off at the airport tonight (there may have been some tears) but I think the city stole his heart just as I was hoping it would. The trip was a great success and we had a blast. I will be in town for another week so stay tuned for more Seattle-centric photos! xo
This past weekend I played tour guide with Casey and took him all around Seattle. It was his first time visiting so, of course, we checked out all the classic sites such as the Pike Place Market, Pioneer Square and Alki Beach to just name a few. Tonight we are going to a Mariners’ game with my family and tomorrow, which is his last day, we’re going kayaking on Lake Union then having dinner at The Pink Door before I have to take him to the airport so he can catch his red eye flight back to New York. I will be staying here a bit longer since I have a bachelorette party in Whistler this coming weekend, but am hoping to have some more great photos to share for the next “Over the Weekend” post!
Seattle in the summer never fails to dazzle me and this trip has been no different. If you ever have a chance to visit, I highly recommend it! xo
This past weekend I was in LA to attend BeautyCon, which is a conference for beauty and fashion digital influencers. It was quite a whirlwind and an eyeopener for me, since I had never attended before. I was there with my friend Lindsey Calla where we hung out at the Carefree booth all day and chatted with girls while they waited for their custom decorated boy shorts and underwear. I took a few photos throughout the day but it was pretty dark inside so none of them really turned out. So instead, I pulled together some of my favorite Instagrams I took over the weekend, along with a few I shot on my iPhone. It’s always fun to visit LA, but I am happy to be in Seattle now for the rest of the summer, hanging with my dog, family and friends. Here’s to a great week and if you love looking at pictures of this guy, then make sure to follow along here. I will be posting a ton of him while I’m home. :) xo
This past Sunday, we took a little day trip to Tarifa, to celebrate our friend Jami’s Birthday. It was about a two hour drive from Malaga, so we got up bright and early to beat the crowds and spent some quiet time on one of the nearby beaches. We soaked up the sun, applied massive amounts of sunscreen, ate more tapas and sipped cold beers. After a few hours, we drove back into the old part of town, which was just beautiful. The streets are narrow and winding and the views surrounding the town are incredible. It’s one of the ports where you can catch a ferry to Africa, which is also pretty neat.
I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves…
The keyhole-shaped entrance to the old and original part of town, which was settled in 1292!
This whole trip, I let my hair air-dry, constantly wore my sunglasses (but that’s nothing new) and wore no makeup, except for the occasional swipe of mascara and a peachy lip color. I lived in my bathing suit and constantly had sand in my hair, but it felt pretty great to just be au natural and not worry about anything else. Sunday was no different for the most part, but I knew Tarifa was a special place and we were celebrating so I felt like slipping on something a little more dressy than just my usual shorts and tee. I had packed this dress hoping to wear it at least once, and it turned out to be the perfect piece to slip on to enjoy the second half of our day. I definitely had beach hair, which was still drying in these photos, so I wore my new favorite Panama hat and a bright lip for a pop of color.
Fresh nuts and coconut slices!
Thanks for following along over the past week and a half while I’ve been away in Spain – it’s been so fun to share these photos with you on the blog as well as Instagram. I hope you’ve enjoyed it as much as I have! xo
