Once again, the stylish Krystal and I have teamed up to do a fun remix based around a similar striped top we both own. She bought hers from Zara, I picked mine up at H&M. They are slightly different in the cut and material, but close enough for a remix challenge. She first wore her top here, I wore mine here. Today, we give you two brand new looks based around said (similar) shirt. The best part is that we kept our outfits a secret from each other until today, so I’m can’t wait to head over to her blog and see her final look! xoxo

Well, we did it! Krystal and I remixed our favorite cape simultaneously every other day last week and these are the looks we came up with. Now I will turn it over to you guys. Happy Friday, and happy almost Halloween! What are you guys dressing up as? A and I are going as a stewardess and a pilot. Classy, huh? Should be a fun time!

Okay, onto the outfit. Today is the last day of the style challenge that Krystal and I took upon ourselves to see how we would both wear our capes this week. I always love her style and this week has proven to be no different.

So, without further adieu, I give you version three. I was trying to channel a movie star-esque vibe again so I pulled out my faux fur stole, my lace and my glittery jewels for a glam effect.

This morning, the weather was less than ideal. Why it’s wet and humid during the last week of October is beyond me. But I made the best of it and decided to cover myself up from the rain with my luxurious cape and felt fedora.

After comparing today’s outfit with Monday’s, I started to sense a theme of old fashioned movie stars. For instance, I felt like the simplicity of the cape with my black blouse and dark shades was very Audrey Hepburn, whereas today’s look gives a nod to the stately and stylish Katharine Hepburn. Orvis Teddy Panama Straw Hat

Lately, I have been into hats. Whether it’s straw Fedoras (finally found the perfect one at, where else, Forever 21) or men’s retro Panama hats, I’m all about them. My boyfriend, on the other hand, is less than thrilled when I cover myself in woven straw and wide brims, but since he is very patient with me and understands my love of fashion regardless of what anyone says, I am on the prowl for a new chapeau. And so, the search begins for my perfect Panama hat.

This is where the fantastic site, Beso.com, comes into play. Seeing that there are so many online options available to us these days, it can be a bit overwhelming when searching for the perfect new piece to add to your wardrobe. But, fear not, Beso’s features are easy to use and cover all the bases—everything from men and women’s clothing, accessories and jewelry, to home decor and beauty products—which is pretty impressive.

There are many ways to search the site, but I decided to narrow it down by just searching “Panama Hats,” which brought up both men and women’s hats. This provided more variety and options, and I was very happy with the search results. I saw a ton that I really liked, but my favorite so far is the cute version from J.Crew, shown just above.

It’s nothing new that I love me some stripes, so when I first saw this Breton striped boatneck sweater on one of the mannequins at the Gap, I was immediately in love. I ducked into the store but for the life of me could not find it anywhere! After searching a few more locations, I ended up snagging it at the store on 42nd street, and got it for 40 percent off with a coupon! Score. Upon bringing it home, I immediately starting brainstorming how I was going to wear it. That’s when I saw my striped dress draped on the couch. Bingo! Stripes on stripes! What’s better than that?!

I am going out to dinner with one of my best friends for dinner tonight and think that I will wear this outfit since the weather has been cooperating lately. Happy Friday! Have a lovely weekend. xoxo

Um, is this a stroke of genius or what? The lovely Krystal, of This Time Tomorrow has gone and done it again. Not only is she an awesome person, but I love her style in general. She is always coming up with ingenious ways to wear regular pieces of clothing by adding her own twist and style. I remember back when I first started reading her blog, I went bananas over this embellished tank she wore here. So much so, that I saved the photo and tucked it away in my DIY to-do folder. I still need to get around to making a similar top, but the point is the inspiration she provided. Anyway, this time, she went and cut off the sleeves of a her trench coat and sent me into a style frenzy. Although her post was supposed to be about her cute DIY turban, I was blinded by her DIY trench. Here’s the thing. I have a trench that I bought from Banana Republic, like forever ago, and I never wear it, which is a shame, but it just doesn’t fit right. It’s too long and overall way to big. I was going to take it in and get it tailored—read: expensive—but now I am having second thoughts and might just pull out my scissors instead and take matters into my own hands…

Two things about this outfit. One, my new fur felt fedora from Hats in the Belfry, called the “Belfry Bernice,” arrived this weekend, so I of course had to wear it immediately because it’s just so cute! Two, my ensemble is directly inspired from this look, taken from the lovely Christina of Second Skin. She has this genius way of wearing button-downs by wrapping and tucking instead of just buttoning and tucking. I have a feeling I am going to be rocking this technique a lot in the near future. Since I’m still searching for the perfect pair of high-waisted, peg-legged pants, I wore my new flare jeans that I picked up at H&M for $5!

I’m so happy it’s Wednesday. That means that it is half way  to the weekend and a week away from when I take off for Seattle. Two really happy thoughts, but that are slightly trumped by the fact that I have been feeling really under the weather lately. My sinuses are feeling out of control! I believe my exact words earlier this week were, “I feel as if my sinuses are strangling my face.” Okay, that is quite an image, but has anyone else ever felt like that?!

Anyway, I apologize for the lack of daily photos, I will post one very soon, I promise. But, in the mean time, I wanted to put the spotlight on some other fantastic bloggers. Voila! My other pair of peep-toe booties that I bought. They are surprisingly comfortable so I decided to wear them to run errands today. First stop is going to be American Apparel to pick up items for my Halloween costume, which I just decided on today, thanks to Krystal over at This Time Tomorrow. She mentioned that AA has costumes posted from people that have used only clothing from the store to create their outfits. I came across one that I thought was super fun and cute, so I’m finally excited about it. Do you guys have your costume picked out for this weekend?

As for today’s outfit…it’s a nice day out, so instead of tights, I opted for these fun socks I picked up at Urban Outfitters last week. I just went with the flow and somehow the outfit came together with a biker chic feel to it. I have worn this jumper before just by itself but this time I layered underneath with an old dress that I cut off the bottom and straps. And to add color, I went with little touches, like magenta lips, two-toned sunglasses and a very bright watch.
