Had a little fun remixing this leather dress that I got as a gift from Juicy last year. To keep it simple, I left on the vest and some of the same accessories, such as the necklace, bag and watch, and merely switched up the layering piece (denim shirt vs silky sheath) and lastly the shoes. Out came two very different looks that took minimal effort! I wore the first outfit last week to run some quick errands, then changed into the second look to attend some press events and dinner with Helena. xo

I was talking to Mike last night, and I was asking him which outfit was his favorite so far. He listed off a couple and then brought up the outfit with the knee socks. He said as much as liked it, he said it would be cool to see them paired with my navy blue skirt. This outfit immediately came to mind, in which he agreed, so today’s outfit is a play off of the original knee sock ensemble. I layered the blue wool skirt over top the black dress, used different socks, and took a more casual approach this time around by layering a bit more and untucking the button-down. But overall, I’m a fan of this look. School girl-meets-beatnik.

Yep, that’s a ring… slipped on over my gloved pinky. I got swagger…

Okay, maybe not, but I’m still digging it and can pretend I’m hardcore. Today’s outfit is sort of preppy 80s meets downtown 90s with a French twist. (I say that only because of the stripes and because my scarf is a map of Paris.)

Here it is, the first remix of the little red dress. In order to give it a more casual look, I opted for a basic plaid button down tied at the waist, and my vintage corduroy jacket to act as a nice contrast against the silky material of the dress. Since it was sunny out, but still crisp and fall-like, I decided on cream lace tights and a similar-hued scarf so that I stayed warm, but which also helped in avoiding the overall style from looking too summery. By the time these photos were taken, the sun was already beginning to set, which gave some of the images a pretty, grainy-like quality. I was very pleased with the outcome of the photos and the ensemble, and can’t wait to remix it again in a totally different way. Stay tuned!

Remember this LRD? It is one of my favorites and I bought it from Anthropolgie last September for a friend’s wedding. This photo was taken back in May, and for the most part, I have only worn it like this to weddings and events. But, the other day, I was browsing through my closet, looking for inspiration, and decided that it’d be a fun challenge to see how I could change the overall look of this dress. So, stay tuned in a few hours to see the first of many remixes of this lovely little red number.
