Happy October 1st! I am so happy this month is here, aren’t you? There are a lot of great things happening in the next few weeks, which include my family coming to visit, a quick trip home to Seattle for a fun event (more on that soon!), plus a scenic drive up to Warwick Valley for apple and pumpkin picking. So, I’d say I have quite a few things to look forward to, which always makes me extremely happy and feel very lucky.
Another great thing about fall, is that it offers up the perfect temperature to start wearing jeans, blazers and cute boots. Case in point, these pretty, cognac-colored lace-up booties from Clarks have patiently been waiting to be worn, so I was happy to finally break them out last week for a walk in the neighborhood with the lovely Allister (who also snapped these photos for me). Gotta love autumn in New York. :) xo
This past weekend I spent a fun weekend away with a bunch of friends in the quaint town of Chelan, Washington. Normally my friends and I spend summers there, swimming in the lake and sunning ourselves on the beach. But more recently it seems the town has decided to team up with the neighboring town, Manson, for a festival called Winterfest. It takes place over two weekends in mid-January and focuses on fun wintry outdoor activities and celebrating local food and drink.
On Saturday, we headed over to Manson for the ale tasting and chilifest. It was extremely cold out (it actually dropped down to 10 degrees at night) so we warmed ourselves by the fire and listened to live music while we took in the spectacular views. Then as it got dark, everyone headed down to the water to send off their Chinese wish lanterns into the sky. It was pretty special, I have to say.
Here are some photos from the past few days, if you’d like to see…
