Today it’s all about dots on dots. I was out shopping with a client last week and we both felt the strong need to own these jeans. Since then I’ve been whipping up outfits with them right and left, so stay tuned for more polka dot remixes later this week! xo
The other day I saw this sheer, long flowy dress on my good friend Krystal’s blog and loved how she paired it with an army jacket and suede ankle boots. It got me thinking that sheer, summery dresses don’t always or only have to be worn just in the summertime, but can be quite versatile and brought out during slightly crisper weather as well. I think you could even get away with a similar look if you slipped on some tights underneath to keep warm once the temperature really starts to drop.
Anyway, what it comes down to is this: I am a huge romantic at heart. I love cheesy, girly, mushy movies, and sweet, thoughtful gestures, and flowers out of the blue, and love notes and all the little things that make your heart and stomach go flippity flop. So, when I saw this dress (on sale for $15!) I felt like it embodied romance and romantical ideals (yes, romantical) with its sweet pink color, sheer layers and pretty detailing around the neckline. And, I absolutely love how it swishes and floats around me when I walk down the street.
Needless to say, I felt very girly and feminine in this dress, but not wanting to go overboard with a sugary sweet look, I paired it with a tougher, more structured utilitarian jacket, along with a tartan plaid button down (something else I saw on Krystal’s blog), a classic braided belt, striped socks (obviously) and some flat rustic-looking ankle boots, in order to avoid making the dress seem too light and summery. The finishing touch was my new favorite F21 find, which added some much needed sparkle. After all, you can never go wrong with wearing diamonds. xoxo
This version of denim on denim is pretty different than yesterday’s ensemble, and definitely skews more towards my inner (or obvious) prepster. So now I’d like to know which look you like the best? And, would you wear either of these outfits?xoxo
Boy was it hot yesterday. I feel like all I’ve been talking about is the crazy humid weather, but when the weather widget on my phone says “feels like 104,” I think it’s worth mentioning. The roof isn’t made of tin, but it sure was hot!
Now, onto the outfit…these shorts are definitely short, but when you are running around in the elements all day, sometimes bare is better. I plan on pattern mixing these shorts, probably with some stripes and a bold pattern scarf—two items I recently picked up at H&M—but am not sure I will be able to pull this off until it drops about 15 degrees.
It’s true that I didn’t wear these heels all day, but instead, I slipped them on after running all my errands. They seem to go with everything—neutral shoes are key—and I’ve definitely been getting a lot of wear out of them.
I can’t explain to you how incredibly happy I am that the weekend is here. Tomorrow I am headed out of the city with A and some of our friends, and I couldn’t be more excited. I hope you all have a fantastic weekend, and I’ll see you on Monday! xoxo
Back in 2005 I purchased the perfect pair of Rock & Republic white jeans (on sale!) from Bloomingdales for $60. I wore them into the ground literally—the pant hems were basically black and chewed up—before I finally decided it was time to take the scissors to them and grant them new life, as brand new cutoffs.
And, I was going to wait a few days before wearing my new cardigan again, but I don’t know who I thought I was kidding. I tried on a couple different outfits before succumbing to picking it up off my bed and creating today’s outfit around it.
I’ll admit that this remix isn’t drastically different from yesterday’s outfit, but I do like the girly twist going on here. I think it’s the pink striped tank, lavender nails and high ponytail that made me feel all shiny and new, ready for a day of fun in the sun! xoxo

Yesterday was a great day. I spent the afternoon wandering around the West Village with my lovely friend, Laney, and caught up on each other’s lives, as we pondered various potted plants, sipped Grey Dog iced coffee, and treated ourselves to yummy gelato (me at PopBar, she at Grom).
It was, once again, quite hot outside, but I managed to wear this lightweight peach cardigan that I picked up for cool $12 (on sale!) at Madewell over the weekend. I am officially in love with it and can’t wait to layer it, belt it and remix the heck out of it.
On another note, I would like to take a minute and showcase the silver necklace I’m wearing in these photos. The lovely Sarah of Sa Sa sent me this cute Horseshoe Pendant. I used to be a girl who only wore silver, but I will admit, in the past few years, I’ve slowly migrated over to wearing just gold accessories. Yet something changed when I pulled this dainty little chain link necklace from it’s cloth bag—very cute packaging by the way— and I found myself warming up to silver once again.
She also has these super cute Heartstring Necklaces (only $12!) available—I’m wearing mine tomorrow—so head on over and check out her stuff! Thank you so much Sarah! xoxo
