This is definitely an edgier look than what I usually post, (quite the opposite of yesterday’s post!) but what’s the point of fashion if you can’t have a little ( or a lot) of fun with it, right? :) Hope your Wednesday is off to a great start! xo
Brocade and Tulle

I haven’t worn this whimsical skirt since this post back in 2011, but thanks to Helena who spotted this adorable version at an Anthropologie in Palm Beach, I was reminded of how much I love my own tulle skirt I bought at H&M years ago. I had recently sent it home to live at my parent’s house since I didn’t seem to be wearing it much, but after pulling it out from way back in the closet, I happily styled it up and had my very own Carrie Bradshaw moment. xo
Blueberry Floral
Karen Walker Sunglasses / H&M Trench (old, but LOVE this one) / F21 Shirt, Shorts (originally inspired by these) and Necklace / Nine West Shoes / World Market Scarf (similar version here) / J.Crew Belt (I also like this one and this one)
After the pouring rain we experienced in Santa Barbara the other day, I finally woke up to the sun shining and birds chirping. We took advantage of the weather by exploring UCSB’s campus where my Mom went to college back in the day, then I met up with a couple of good friends for lunch downtown. Later on, back at the ranch, the light was so pretty, and with the evenings staying lighter longer it was the perfect time to photograph my new floral shorts and printed top I found at F21. Aren’t the little sailboats cute? xo
My Country Chic
ModCloth Dress / J.Crew Shirt / F21 Necklace, and Blazer (similar style here) / Charlotte Russe and J.Crew Bracelets / Me Too Shoes (via Buffalo Exchange – similar pair here)

I’ll be honest, I’m a bit of a country music girl at heart, which means I am a sucker for sappy love songs with a slight twang. What can I say, this type of music gives me serious nostalgia, because after all, I did grow up in the Pacific Northwest during the 90s listening to 94.1. For those of you from Seattle that know that station and liked it…’nuff said.
Anyway, on a fashion note, it’s safe to say I like the occasional worn-in cowboy boot or the perfect gingham shirt – styled either traditionally or quirkily. But, I find that I always end up mixing that type of item in with an unexpected piece, like a white and black tuxedo blazer and a girly dress, in this case. Personally, it’s more of a challenge and it brings that stereotypical item out of its comfort zone, making it just that more fun and interesting. I guess when it comes to fashion, I am all about juxtaposition and keeping things continually interesting…so here’s to more of that in the new year! xo
Cut Out
Versace Sunglasses (gifted from Sunglass Hut) / F21 Necklace / Zara Blouse and Skirt / Express Tights / Vince Camuto Booties / Camille Zarsky Red Porfolio Clutch (gift)
Black can be so difficult to photograph, especially black on black, but if you look closely at this skirt, you will notice that the front has a cool cut out, making it short in the front and long in the back. I found this little gem while I was in London, but it’s also available online and I just saw it in the stores this past week. Oh Zara, you’ve done it again…
Making Friends, Taking Pictures
The other night I partook in a very cool photo shoot along side Keiko, Lindsey, Tess, and Helena, who I finally got to meet! She is the beautiful girl behind the lovely blog, Brooklyn Blonde, and let me tell you, she is just as lovely in person. (She was the one that actually inspired me to buy the skirt I’m wearing, which I got it on sale at ASOS for $18, after I first saw her wear it here.) I just have to say, I feel so lucky to have met so many wonderful and inspiring women in this industry and be a part of so many amazing opportunities. I’m a lucky girl. xoxo
DKNY Blazer (never worn, thrifted from Crossroads Trading Co.) / Equipment Blouse (Loehmann’s) / ASOS Skirt (on sale!) / H&M Bag and Cuff / Coach Watch (gift) / F21 Necklace

I have to admit something…I have a section in my closet purely dedicated to tops in the beigey-pink-white-neutral color scheme, and I adore each and every piece…this lightweight sweater being one of them. I have also had these shorts for a while now and wear them incessantly. The color and fit is just that perfect. So, I guess as much as I am drawn to bold colors, I am also a huge sucker for soft, easy neutrals…and apparently, pairing them together…
P.S. I also love how the straps of these sandals parallel the stripes in my top…just a fun little additional detail to my easy breezy ensemble. xoxo
