Oliver Peoples Sunglasses (borrowed from Casey) | Forever 21 Flannel (I just bought it this in the store but can’t seem to find it online. Here is a simiar style in a pretty light blue.) | Levi Shorts (These are my Dad’s old jeans:) | ModCloth Boots (gift – similar) | Madewell Bag | Bluestone Lane Coffee
I have been thinking about transitional outfits lately because slowly but surely it’s beginning to cool down and it’s definitely getting darker earlier, which is a clear sign that summer is signing off soon…
Happy Wednesday friends! Today’s video is about a few things I picked up from Forever 21 (and a couple things from Aritzia) last week and I thought it would be fun to share with you guys what I found! I also am thinking that I want to create a video showing how I styled these items so let me know in the comments if that is something you would love to see!
Just a quick pop in to say hello and see how everyone’s week is going! Tomorrow I am so excited to finally share my cruise recap video with you all, so make sure to check back in on Wednesday. In the meantime, here is a casual look that I love wearing when the warmer weather starts coming around.
I wore this outfit yesterday to run up to 18th and Broadway to preview the new ED by Ellen (as in Ellen DeGeneres!) spring ’16 home and ready to wear collection. My favorite pieces were the gorgeous dark gray dinner plates, the indigo throw pillows and the marble cheese board, which aren’t available quite yet, but when they are I will be sure to share them with you! Afterward, I met up with a client for a quick chat about a new dress she is planning on wearing to an upcoming family event, before running home to meet up with Krystal to do some outfit shooting.
Originally I had on little ankle booties, but at the ED by Ellen preview, they were kind enough to gift me these gorgeous gray felt pumps, which I am obsessed with, so of course I wanted to wear them immediately. They are super comfortable too!
Can we also discuss this burgundy leather jacket? I spotted it at a Forever 21 preview last week and fell in love with it. It’s quite a bold shade but really pretty so I wanted to play off the richness of the color by pairing it with a scarf that had complimentary colors. It comes with a removable faux fur collar, which is the same color as the jacket. In this instance, I removed it, although I may wear the two together, but I actually think it will look really cool draped over a classic black overcoat for a dramatic touch.
Anyway, as you all know, this kind of outfit is my go-to look because it’s so easy to throw on and still feel put together. So with that said, I’m thinking about creating some collages recreating this type of outfit for you guys but in different color ways so you can also easily get the look! Would you guys be into that type of post? Let me know in the comments below!
Side note: I found this button down at Forever 21, but the only issue when shopping in the store versus online is sometimes I can’t find what I bought to share with you all! I have been searching and searching on the website but can’t seem to locate this top. So instead, I picked a bunch of similar styles that I like so hopefully you can recreate this outfit if you like it!
Happy Wednesday! Welcome back to The Weekly Edit. This series focuses on my favorite sites, highlighting my favorite pieces, and will change and rotate every Wednesday with different styles and price points, so hopefully there will be something for everyone. Happy shopping! xoxo
Today’s outfit is all about this colorful and fun skirt that I picked up at Forever 21. It actually comes with a matching crop top, which I love wearing together as well, but for this look I decided on a black tank instead. I love a summery floral pattern and this high-waisted skirt is cheerful and really comfortable.
I have been playing around with wearing crop tops lately and fitted skirts, but I still feel sort of self conscious when showing too much of my body (that’s just me!) so I opted for a flowy vest to throw on over the top to add a bit of coverage. I also feel like it helps tie the look together.
