With the weather spiking into the 90s last week, I decided to forgo my beloved lightweight v-neck tees for anything cropped or in tank form. I’m not usually one to show my stomach, but when it gets this hot and humid all I want to do is stay as cool as possible, and a good crop top seems to do the trick.
Luckily, I heard that the weather in New York might be giving us a bit of a break this coming week, so fingers crossed. But regardless, I still plan on trying to sneak in some pool time to escape the city heat! Have a great week everyone! xo

P.S. Nordstrom is having their Anniversary Sale! As a Seattleite, this is something I look forward to all year. You can shop the sale here!

Last week I hosted a really fun Parker event on the 5th floor of Saks with Helena and Kim. It was finally warm enough to wear bare legs so we took advantage of the weather and shot a few photos at Bryant Park before heading into the event. We spent the evening chatting with shoppers, experimenting with the custom Parker print nail art and instagramming up a storm, which you can see below.
I plan on bringing this dress with me to Coachella (I leave on Thursday!) and since it will be 90 degrees all weekend, I plan on styling this floral number without a blazer and swapping out my high heels for a pair of espadrilles. xo

There is nothing like yellow to brighten up the day, especially when it’s been gray and rainy a few in a row. Yellow has been my favorite color since I was a little girl, and even though I might have swayed a bit through my teenage and college years and claimed that periwinkle, was in fact, my favorite color, I am back to yellow. The bright and cheerful nature of it never fails to make me happy or bring a needed pop to any outfit, don’t you think? xo

These photos were taken a couple days before I left London where I was visiting my best friend. Early in the day, I lucked out by finding this scarf and boots (I own them in black too!) at the Zara near their flat and have a strong feeling that they will be making frequent appearances on the blog.
I’m back in New York now and beginning to sort through all the photos I took while in Paris, Munich and Vienna, which is slightly overwhelming, but will be sure to share them here soon! In the meantime you can check out my instagram to see some previous photos from the trip.

On another note, I really hope to see you all at the 34th street GAP event tonight! If you haven’t already rsvped yet, you can do so by emailing: INSTYLE_GAP@TIMEINC.COM. Details below…

As a longtime lover of Coach, I am really excited about their recent collections featuring classic styles and now their Legacy Collection. The clean and simple lines in rich and bright colors really speak to me. I have been carrying this red beauty everywhere – it’s such a great size for a shoulder bag – and find that it goes with a lot more than I thought. It’s the perfect pop of color!

DSC_0031The other day I saw this sheer, long flowy dress on my good friend Krystal’s blog and loved how she paired it with an army jacket and suede ankle boots. It got me thinking that sheer, summery dresses don’t always or only have to be worn just in the summertime, but can be quite versatile and brought out during slightly crisper weather as well. I think you could even get away with a similar look if you slipped on some tights underneath to keep warm once the temperature really starts to drop.

Anyway, what it comes down to is this: I am a huge romantic at heart. I love cheesy, girly, mushy movies, and sweet, thoughtful gestures, and flowers out of the blue, and love notes and all the little things that make your heart and stomach go flippity flop. So, when I saw this dress (on sale for $15!) I felt like it embodied romance and romantical ideals (yes, romantical) with its sweet pink color, sheer layers and pretty detailing around the neckline. And, I absolutely love how it swishes and floats around me when I walk down the street.

Needless to say, I felt very girly and feminine in this dress, but not wanting to go overboard with a sugary sweet look, I paired it with a tougher, more structured utilitarian jacket, along with a tartan plaid button down (something else I saw on Krystal’s blog), a classic braided belt, striped socks (obviously) and some flat rustic-looking ankle boots, in order to avoid making the dress seem too light and summery. The finishing touch was my new favorite F21 find, which added some much needed sparkle. After all, you can never go wrong with wearing diamonds. xoxo
