After writing this blog for four and a half years now I have always strived to come up with new and interesting content, but with a fluctuating schedule and lots of travel as of late, it can be hard to stay on track with consistent posts other than sharing regular outfits, and even that can be hard to maintain at times when other work gets really busy. But, I have given it some thought and decided I am going to really try to post every Wednesday a series called “Crazy About…” which will be based on a trend,  theme or just things I like, and on Friday, a post called “Friday Favorites” which I first introduced here, and will be showcasing things I’m loving at the moment.

So, here is to the New Year and making things happen, and with that said, I give you my first “Crazy About” post, which is all about a a handful of my favorite black and white items which are available online. I’ve always loved making fun mini films on my iPhone or back in the day, walking around with my video camera capturing funny moments of my friends, but I never took the time to truly edit the film, add music or make it into anything worth sharing. So, when I was introduced to a special film making application by French Connection, which allows you to make a unique scene from pre-made film clips from their new campaign, I jumped at the chance to give it a try.

All the backdrops are set in the lovely town of Portofino, Italy and is all about whimsy and romance. What’s fun is, it’s all up to you and takes a matter of maybe five minutes. You get to be the director and create the perfect mini film, all edited together for you at the end.
The next best thing is, once you have created your film, you can enter it in their contest and get a chance to win a trip to the Sydney Film Festival, complete with a shopping spree, and your scene will be played live in French Connection stores as part of their campaign.

You can watch my mini film here, which I based off of two best girlfriends that are on a spring break together in Europe, which is very reminiscent of how I spent my junior year abroad with one of my best friends, frolicking around the mediterranean coast – just us being girlie, and it was a blast. Wore my new favorite t-shirt and heels to grab a quick breakfast of coffee and eggs last week at Buvette with Lydia, Alicia and Natacha. I have to say these heels are incredibly comfortable and to be perfectly honest, I loved them so much, I just bought a second pair (as well as the black version) to have as a backup. I guess when I find something I love, that’s also comfortable, it’s a win win situation in my mind, right? Do you guys have any tried and true staples in your wardrobe that you swear by? I came across these two batches of outfit photos and realized I had never posted them, probably because A. I forgot and B. I thought they might be a bit too blurry due to the time of day of when they were taken. But regardless, I liked both looks so decided to pull them out and post them for fun. The top outfit I wore to a press event and the second look I wore to the Red Dress Collection^SM Fashion Show back in February.

Aren’t these jeans wild? I found them in a cute boutique in New Orleans last October, where they were majorly on sale and decided they’d be perfect for spring and summer. I’m looking forward to pairing them with a bright tank instead of a long sleeve blouse and jacket as shown above. Warmer weather really needs to grace New York with its presence immediately – snow, wind and rain is just not cutting it. Luckily I am heading to Coachella in a few weeks (more on that soon) where I get to soak up some much needed Vitamin D and I can not wait! xo

If you guys remember from this post, back in January I was lucky enough to travel to Copenhagen with ECCO for Copenhagen Fashion Week, alongside amazing company from MarieClaire.com, Refinery 29 and Boston Fashionista. We spent our time learning all about ECCO and how their products are made. We saw the changing of the guards and toured Georg Jensen’s headquarters. We dined at wonderful places like Madklubben Steak and The Royal Cafe, and tried out “Nordic tapas” with wine. And, we of course found time for some shopping where I found the most amazing gray leather vest at a little consignment boutique just off the Strøget. All in all, it was a wonderful trip and I left loving ECCO and Copenhagen even more than before. Thank you to everyone at ECCO for a fantastic trip!

Today is my Dad’s Birthday! I am someone who absolutely loves Birthdays and I hate that I am not in Seattle right now to celebrate with him and my Mom. So instead, I decided to put up a few of my favorite photos of him, which will probably make him cringe a bit, but hey, in my mind, a Birthday is all about focusing on and celebrating (and sometimes embarrassing) the person on their special day! :) So, here’s to the best Dad in the world.

 Wore this to brunch in Brooklyn this past weekend where I enjoyed eggs over easy, biscuits and a side of grits – it was the perfect cold-weather meal. And when it’s freezing and snowing out, besides a hearty breakfast, I always gravitate towards oversized sweaters, worn-in jeans and comfy sneakers. In this case, I opted for my new varsity-inspired knit and kept the overall theme simple by sticking with black and white accents. Hope you’re week is off to a great start! xo
