ARCHIVE: Remixes

Isn’t it fun to look back and see how you wear things depending on the season and weather? The look on the left was taken back in November 2016 and the right was taken this month! I love how swapping out a neutral bootie and a faux fur jacket for a pink heel and a camel car coat, quickly and subtly changed the feel of these two looks. These are sometimes the best kinds of remixes because they are easy and don’t take a ton of brain power. You just swap one piece out for another and there you go! Which outfit is your favorite?

You guys know that I love doing outfit remixes so it was a lot of fun creating these three looks around one pair of pants. I bought them from Zara years ago and they have still remained one of my favorite pairs that I own. Unfortunately, they are no longer available but here are two options that are very similar (here and here). I just love how three looks can be so different, yet still have so many similarities. For instance, I used the same hat in all three outfits and in two out of the three looks, I am wearing the same bag, earrings and sunglasses! Through these types of posts, I hope to show you how to create interesting outfits and remind you guys to shop your closet and remix your favorite pieces.

I love how adding or taking away accessories can instantly change an outfit. In this case, I started out with the look on the left and half way through taking photos, I decided that I wanted to see what it would look like if I swapped out the cream mules for velvet flats, and add a hat. The two looks aren’t incredibly different but each have a different feel, if that makes sense. Which look do you like the best?

Remember this outfit from last May?

I’ve owned these wide leg jeans for a while now and have always loved how they look in person, but find that they don’t always translate when photographed, which is why I have only styled them twice for the blog (see here and here). That said, I thought it would still be fun to share the two outfits side by side and see which one you guys liked best. Click through to see more!

Here is the last outfit remix with this sweet little slip dress! (See outfit one and two.) This sweater is one of my favorites and always works perfectly over lacy tanks, so I figured why not layer it over this dress! read more >

It’s day two of remixing this little pinstripe number, (see look one) and I’m excited to share a more casual version of this little dress. I wanted to give this outfit a tomboy twist, so I slipped on my new favorite sneakers by Matt Bernson and this fun French Connection varsity jacket. Both my photographer and I agreed that this look should be called “sporty spice” more >
