Wrap Up: My DDF Amplifying Elixir

With the colder months soon to be upon us (New York, you need to hurry up and make up your mind because this hot then cold then hot again weather isn’t doing it for me), I started thinking, what better time to start revving up my skincare routine and start in with the heavy duty moisturizing routine, right? Well, contrary to what I thought, thick creams aren’t always the best option when tackling dry skin. When I went in for my amazing facial by DDF the specialist told me that serums are actually better for absorbing into the skin, and help hydrate better especially when the outside winter air becomes dry and unforgiving. This was news to me, so I made sure to keep integrating their new Amplifying Elixir into my beauty regime and I have to say, I definitely noticed a difference.

Soon after I had my facial, I had the chance to chat up DDF Brand Ambassador and E! News Correspondent Giuliana Rancic, who swears by the elixir just as much as I do and uses it as one of her preparation secrets. She is totally obsessed just like me! And for someone who has really sensitive and dry skin, believe me when I say, I immediately notice when something does or doesn’t work. So all I have to say is the elixir is a game changer. And with that said, bring it on freezing weather and relentless wind chill factor! I know exactly how to beat you this coming winter. :) xoxo

I Love Paris in the Springtime…

Adore my new lightweight sweater from Jupe Boutique. And, don’t you just love stripes and florals paired together?

On our last day in Paris, I thought it would be fun to show “A” Sacre Coeur and Monmartre. If you’ve ever been to this area, you know how far removed it is and that it’s quite a hike to get to the top. But oh-so-worth it. To get a better feel for this beautiful place, I recommend you watch Amelie immediately.

“A” and I ate lunch at this quaint little spot off the beaten path and away from the hustle bustle of the main streets.

Sacre Coeur

The bestie. I miss her so much already.

Cheese is everywhere you look. It’s amazing.

After exploring for a while, we partook in the usual afternoon activity. Resting our feet, sipping on wine and eating cheese. What’s better than that?

Afterward we continued back down to Le Fumoir, which is situated behind the Louvre. I used to frequent this spot quite often when I lived in Paris back in 2002 where we would sip on Pastis and munch on olives and mixed nuts. Luckily it hasn’t changed one bit. We scored an amazing spot by an open window and looked out at this:

Sponor Spotlight: Plume!

You all remember my lovely sponsor, Plume, right? Well, today’s sponsor spotlight is all about them and their lovely fine feather hair extensions. And, I finally did it! I attached my very own pretty plume in my hair! I have been meaning to try it for some time now but wasn’t sure how I wanted to integrate it into my look/hair. But once I actually thought about where I wanted it to be, I decided that it should be a place that could be showcased but discreet at the same time.

First, I attached the Plume (I’m wearing the Solid Golden Feather) in a spot I felt comfortable with, which turned out to be right behind my ear. Above: The feather before I fully I styled it.

After I inserted it in my hair, I finished styling my hair, which I decided to wear messy curls, and worked the Plume in with the other pieces to make it look natural. I was really pleased with the outcome, although I think I still need a little practice, but loved how it subtly spiced up my hair with an auburn touch without being overly dramatic. Voila! xoxo

Outfit Remix: The Classic

Welcome to remix #2. I saw this blazer on Mo’s Vintage, the sister etsy shop of Clyde’s Rebirth, and immediately knew I had to have it. When a good blazer comes along, you just have to swoop it up. It arrived in the mail wrapped in a vintage scarf (such a sweet touch) with a sweet note from Merl, the owner. Isn’t it the most perfect shade of red?

For this remix challenge I decided to keep the tights the same throughout in order to show how versatile polka-dots can be regardless of your style. As for the skirt, I love how there is a pretty purple in the plaid, but I decided to use contrasting colors such as maroon, blue, and beige as complimentary accents to change things up a bit.
