Doing tree pose above Sunset Point in Bryce Canyon

I flew back to New York on a red eye this past Monday morning after being in Utah and Seattle for two weeks, and have definitely been a little jet lagged the past few days. I meant for this post to go up when I got back but had a few things come up, which is why it’s a late, so I’m sorry about that. But, lucky for you guys, that means you get two new posts today!

Anyway, hopefully you guys are feeling more rested than I am (hello three hour time difference), but if are feeling slow this morning, here are some fun links from around the web to ease you into your day. I hope you all had a great weekend and here’s to having a wonderful week!

Two weeks worth of posts:

I picked up this book at the beginning of our trip and could hardly put it down!

I finally got to experience what it was like to hike in a river.

Obsessed with these oversized sunnies.

How cute are these gray summer sandals?

A baby giraffe joins Seattle’s Woodland Park Zoo.

One of my Mom’s favorite dog Instagram accounts.

Just saw this touching movie and highly recommend it.

Now some fun links courtesy of my lovely intern, Keaton.

I’m obsessed with these lamps (here’s an affordable version as well).

I swear by this face cream, I would never use anything else.

This is my favorite sunglass brand.

I’m guilty of wearing boots and booties year round – I love these.

The only eye liner I use.

After reading this I’m definitely fluent in fashion week. ;)

If you missed it, here’s last week’s Link Love!

For the past week, my family and I have been camping and hiking in and around Bryce Canyon National Park and Zion National Park, and it’s so amazing here! To be able to disconnect, be fully present with my family, soak up my surroundings and take a bit of a digital cleanse seems to be exactly what I’ve needed. Unfortunately it tends to be a rarity these days but it’s so important to take time off from the internet, our computer and phones, don’t you think?

In a few days we are going to road trip back to Seattle so I can see my Grandmother, who is 101 (!) and a few other loved ones, but for now, here are some fun links from around the web that I wanted to share with you guys. Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous week! xo

I’ve been reading this book and can’t put it down. Thanks for lending it to me, Grace!

Recent Forever purchases include these nude pom pom ankle strap heels, this nude slip dress and these faux suede blush slides. (I’m sensing a color theme here…)

My collaboration with Cooper & Ella + Dream Downtown was covered in WWD!

Banana Republic finds include this wide brim, brown straw hat, (which also happens to be one of Olivia Palermo’s picks), another pair of suede slides this time in a rich “whiskey” brown and this crisp white off the shoulder shirt.

Next up, my lovely intern, Keaton.

Here are some links she’s been loving from around the web!

I’m really into this jacket because it’s cool and lightweight, and fits my compulsive need to bring a coat everywhere even if its 100 degrees outside!

Since I’m obsessed with denim on denim, these overalls are my best friend.

Now that it’s summer I’m looking forward to finally finishing this book.

Perfect for small spaces and adding some extra seating to a room.

The funniest comedy special I’ve ever seen.

Has my mug search finally come to an end?

Really digging these workout leggings.

Such a cool article.

Have a great week friends and don’t forget to stop by here this week because there will be some fun posts up about my summer uniform, and how to dress up denim shorts!  xo

Task Rabbit makeover 6

I teamed up with TaskRabbit to transform my cluttered upstairs closet into a gorgeous vanity, an organized oasis where I could finally have a place for all my makeup, jewelry, perfume and other accessories. It’s been such a dream because unfortunately my bathroom doesn’t have any countertops so getting ready in the morning was always challenging. Task Rabbit shared my story in their newsletter, which I’m really excited to share with you guys! (The story also got picked up by  PopSugar!)

Tasker Denis making the magic happen. :)

What was used:
From Home Depot: 2 base cabinets, a 4-light chrome wall vanity light, and a shelf board
From IKEA: shelf brackets, a mirror, brass drawer pulls, and shelves to flank the mirror
From Target: Gold and marble hooks, vanity tray, area rug, bench
From the hardware store: Lightbulbs, wiring, paint
From TaskRabbit: Tasker Denis was SO helpful in making this all come to life!

I would say, the one area that I still haven’t quite finished is the bedroom. I plan on changing out the nightstand on the right and adding a luxe blue velvet headboard, which I think will add some texture and warmth to the room.

Thank you so much to everyone who was involved in making this happen!

Processed with VSCO with s2 presetNew York at Christmastime is pretty special, so when my parents said they wanted to come for the holidays this year I was so excited. The last time they came in December was back in 2004 but I had only been in the city for a couple of months, so it was a lot of fun to experience all the festivities and holiday traditions together again 12 years later.christmas-in-new-york-city-dinner-at-the-clam

Processed with VSCO with s2 presetJust wanted to check in and say that I hope everyone’s holiday was wonderful and that I will be back to my regular posting schedule tomorrow. My parents are still in town so I am going to soak up as much time with them as I can before they have to head back to Seattle. Here’s to having a great week and wishing you and yours lots of love! xo

Happy Wine Wednesday! Today’s wine is a Pinot Noir by Alit wine, which originates from Oregon’s Willamette Valley. I brought a bottle of this tasty vino to a dinner party that Helena hosted a couple Friday nights ago and it was a big hit…

This week has been quite a doozy, amiright? I decided to take the past few days off from posting because I guess it just didn’t feel right sharing my regular content on here when everything felt so…discombobulated. And since I don’t know your political views, I will just speak for myself and say it’s been a very emotional, upsetting and shocking past few days. I considered writing a post on everything that has happened and how I feel, but instead I am going to let my dear friend Krystal who wrote this beautiful and poignant blog post, take it away.

And with that said, I’m keeping this short and sweet today, so here are a few links from from around the web…

Here is a list of some great causes to donate to if you’re interested.

I am going to try out this silk pillow case, which I have been so curious about. Have you guys tried it or anything like it?

One of my long time, favorite blogs, A Cup of Jo had commissioned ten original illustrations to celebrate Hillary’s win, which many of her readers requested to still see. I already belong to her newsletter, but if you’d like to as well, you can sign up here.

Personal question for those of you on birth control. What are your thoughts on getting an IUD?

If you are suffering from puffy eyes or lack of sleep over the past few days, I highly recommend this eye gel, which is super soothing. I keep mine in the fridge so that it’s super cooling when I apply it.post-election-post-2I was supposed to be in DC with White House Black Market on a two-day press trip, but I have been battling horrible stomach pains, so I ended up staying home. However, even though I couldn’t be there with them, I wanted to share two current favorite pieces from the brand that I have been loving. This red leather is just as vibrant in person and super soft, and I love how this blazer is perfectly tailored and has a great silhouette.

Alright my loves. Thanks for hanging in there with me and I will be back to my regular posting schedule next week! xoxo

As someone who is not particularly fond of Mondays, I’m also not a morning person, so when the day rolls around and my alarm goes off, it feel like a double whammy. But after talking it over with my friend Emily, who LOVES Mondays (what?!) she’s been helping me strategize on how to kick off my week with a positive note and look at it as a fresh start.

Since I have the flexibility that comes with working for yourself, I want to start using Mondays as a way to do a few things just for me that feed my soul, which include yoga, meditation and/or taking a walk by the water, all of which help me clear my head. I also am going to use the day for administrative work, which means cleaning out my inbox, organizing and updating paperwork, invoices, spreadsheets etc. so that I feel organized, energized and ready to take on the rest of the week.

Now for a fun roundup of my favorite links/products that I have been loving lately, and here’s to getting your Monday Mojo on! xo

How to beat the Sunday scaries in 60 seconds.

Obsessed with these under-eye patches.

Something I try and remind myself whenever I feel shy.

How to pack for ten days in Paris.

I’m patiently waiting for this gray sweater to become available in my size, but I also own it in black and  highly recommend it.

A hilarious illustration about modern dating.

Have you guys been watching This Is Us? It’s one of my new favorite shows. I also just finished the Netflix show Easy, which I also really liked a lot.

I got this lipstick as a gift (worn here) and now it’s almost all I ever wear.

Two books that are on my list to read: Anxious to Please and Emotional Intelligence

What do you guys do to get yourself pumped and ready for Monday? I would love to know!
