Now that I am in my early 30s, I have really started to think about how I want to take care of myself and the changes I want to make to live a healthier lifestyle. There are a million things I know I should be better about (drinking more water, wearing sunscreen daily, flossing more regularly, to name a few) but the one thing that my Grandmother and Mother always told me was that it was important to take care of my skin. Not just my face, but my whole body. I’ll admit, I have gotten much better at taking my makeup off before I go to bed and moisturizing my face two times a day. But, I neglect the rest of my skin as far as moisturizing goes. The problem that I have aways found, is my skin is extremely dry and sensitive, and I’ve had far too many experiences where it will get super itchy after using the wrong body wash or lotion.

However, now that summer is right around the corner and I plan to be in a bathing suit for most of it, I no longer can hide behind an excuse not to take care of my skin head to toe. That said, I’ve decided to make a pledge and switch from not using any type of body moisturizer to making a conscious effort to do so everyday. It may not seem like a hard task, but habits are hard to break. I just have to keep reminding myself that I don’t want to have scaly, wrinkly, dry skin as I get older so I’m tackling the issue now and giving it my best shot!  I now encourage you all to make a pledge of your own! What healthier choices do you want to make in your life?

You have to find a moisturizer that works for you. I have learned throughout the years, that you can’t go by what works for certain skin types may not necessarily work for you.
The healthier choices I want to make in my life…eating healthier foods, commit to making foods at home.

Agreed! I started committing to using SPF too. You look gorgeous and I don’t think you’ll have to worry about wrinkly skin for a long time! ;)

Aw, so sweet of you – I’m trying to maintain it! Which sunscreen do you use?

Wow good for you! Daily body moisture is really hard for me, BUT I have fallen in love with Lush’s argon Rose Jam body conditioner! You put it on in the shower like hair conditioner, then rinse it right off. It leaves your skin moisturized and smelling delicious and is sooo much easier than putting on a bunch of lotion!

I moisurize daily now but it’s not always been the case…

It’s just a good habit you have to take!
