Plain and simple: I love TOMS. Which is why I recently bought a second pair in this lovely gray color after wearing my first pair to shreds. Only problem is, they don’t fit correctly. They are the exact same size as my other ones, but for some reason they are super tight on my toes, which quickly becomes very painful. I was only able to wear them once or twice (they are in essentially brand new) before giving up and deciding to see if any of you lovelies might be interested in them. Same problem. I was looking at some in Urban Outfittes the other day and the 8 1/2 was too small and the 9 was too big. I decided to pass.

I bet if you contacted Tom’s they would send you a different pair. I think their customer service is pretty good.

I have two pairs of the wedges (purchased earlier this year) and had the same issue – I ended up getting 1/2 size up because my toes were getting smashed!

I was actually told this by a store representative when I called about the fit: a lot of Tom’s shoes actually run small (including these canvas ones). They do this because the fabric is such that it will stretch and shape to your foot better, but you kind of just have to break them in for a week or two. So maybe you might want to give them a little more time before abandoning them, because I know after my first week of wearing mine they were infinitely more comfortable and now one of my favorite pairs of shoes. :)

Hey! I had the same experience and contacted Tom’s costumer service and they have a no return/exchange policy but they did tell me to stick with it and keep wearing them because they will stretch (a lot). Low and behold, they did and now they are as comfortable and roomy as ever…
Maybe keep wearing them and see what happens? Good Luck, I love me some Tom’s!!

I used to work there, so glad you’re a supporter!! Stick with the shoes, they stretch out a lot and are made to form to your foot. If you go a half size up they will fit at first, then stretch and become too big. :)

I totally agree with Katie. I know you said you already have a pair but they will definitely stretch. I have 3 pairs and of course in the beginning they aren’t all that comfortable but they will definitely stretch out. I’m afraid if you go up a size they willmstretch so much that they will end up being loose on you. Again though, it’s your decision. Good luck!

I’ve also had this experience — I have 3 pairs of Tom’s — all 6′s. The oldest pair (blue) fits great. The second purchased pair (black) was too tight and now seems to be stretching a little. The newest pair (red) is tight – if they behave as the others have, they’ll stretch out after five to ten washings. Regardless, I love them.

Have you tried spritzing them with water and/or putting them in the freezer then wearing them? I know it seems like a pain but it really works for stretching shoes out a little bit…

I’ve had similar problems with shoes. I purchased a pair of shoe stretcher. They help a lot. Just insert them into your shoe and let them stretch for a few days. I would do this after each time you wear them until the canvas has stretched to your liking. Here is a link to a pair:

I have 7 pairs of toms and they are supposed to be super super tight. They stretch out a lot which is why you want them really tight to begin with. I promise that is how they are supposed to be and I promise they will stretch out and be perfect. I also promise if you buy them in your normal size to begin with they will stretch out and be too big for you. I would keep them if I were you.
