As I’m sure you can tell by these photos, I am trying to wear more color. And with color blocking being huge right now, I guess I’m right on trend. Keiko, being from Florida, said I looked like I belonged in Palm Beach, then followed it up by saying I should take it as a compliment. Having never been to Palm Beach, let alone Florida, I will take her word for it. Either way, I’m enjoying brighter hues, so expect to see a lot more of them on the blog over the next couple weeks.
Saturday was spent eating the most delicious lunch at Sylvain in the French Quarter, where we were treated like kings and queens. I loved having “A” there with me and I think Bobby welcomed having another male around. We drank champagne and ate glorious things like various cheeses, beets, homemade pickles, fried zucchini, fried chicken and pulled pork. Bobby and “A” both got the Nola signature drink, the Sazerac, which is rye whiskey in an absinthe-rinsed glass. Yowsa.
Afterwards, we all hopped in a cab and headed back over to the Garden District where we (the girls) picked out personalized stationary at Wedding Belles Stationer. I chose a cheery yellow card with my name in gray imprinted along the bottom, and a soft gray envelope to match. I can’t wait to receive them and send out some old fashioned mail to loved ones.
Before heading back to change for dinner, we stopped for some gelato (I told you we ate our way through the city!) and iced coffee at Sucre (their macaroons are also amazing) then ogled at all the beautiful old, pastel-colored mansions that lined the nearby streets. It was such a lovely, sun-soaked day.
I will be posting the last of the photos later today, so make sure to check back soon!

Just ate lunch at Sylvain for the first time today and everything was delicious. My husband makes their gelato and sorbetto down at la Divina. (Which is WAY better than Sucre’s, lol)
I’ve been eying that H&M blazer for months now, but the closest one is in Texas, I think. It looks so Palm Beach with that dress; Keiko was right!
