I am on a mission to finally get a bunch of my clothes altered to the length and fit that is needed in order for them to look the most flattering on me. So, for fun, I decided to photograph each item that I am getting fixed, and show the before and after shots of how they look. This dress is a great example of my problems with funny dress lengths. Let’s be honest, as much as I love Mad Men—the way the women showcase their ankles while still looking sexy, but without showing their knees—the below the knee length does not work on me because of my height. Standing at an extremely tall 5’4″, I still need to lift my hem up a few inches in order to avoid looking short and stout. So, with that said, stay tuned to see the final product!

Super cute outfit. Love the fabric pattern, the belt, and the hat. Extra commendations for the mission to tailor to flatter. Can’t wait to see the outcome!

That is an amazing dress! The print is so beautiful and perfect for end of summer/early fall. Definitely looking forward to seeing what it looks like after you hike up the hem!

The print of the dress is very pretty, but I agree on the length part. I am 5’3” and anything that goes more than a inch below my knees, gives me a feeling of drowning in in the dress. I am sure its gonna look super cute in you with a shorter hem.

Aw! I LOVE this dress! Can’t wait to see the shortened version (short is always better–my motto.)

I can totally relate to this post. I’m super short and always have to hem everything. I lot the knee length look but my shortness halters that sometimes. But you look awesome as always!
